A Video Idea...

So my new turntable arrived home yesterday, and I've been using it ever since. I'm thinking of putting out some exclusive content for Patrons - me introducing some of the vinyl records that I adore, and letting you guys take a listen - preferably super obscure Kpop that can't even be searched on the internet.

I wanted to do this on my individual channel, but with the recent copyright scare, I don't want to risk my account being banned. I might test the waters on a new account, but before that, I'm thinking about making some exclusives for you guys.

So tell me what you think of the idea, and if you guys want it, I'll start making vids tomorrow. Thanks!

I actually appreciate your answer to why you like vinyl. But I really wasn't asking the question. It was more of a rhetorical answer to buying a simple/inexpensive turntable. Haha

The price of vinyl is so diverse, I can't really say. If I look in the bargain bin, I could fit in 6 LPs. But most would be pretty bad... As for why I like vinyl, I want something tangible to have and touch and smell. It's refreshing after spending hours on the computer.

Not sure that you would really want too much vinyl. Lol How many albums can you get for 20,000 Won? Yeah, I figured you would get a simple turntable. Why spend a lot of money to spin old records? Have fun!

Frank Ansak

Awesome. I'll get to filming it tonight.

DKDKTV

Haha. I knew you would enjoy it. That's a lot of records, unfortunately my vinyl collection isn't that big - though I do have about 200 albums in my cd collection. Unfortunately I don't have any indie fusion / traditional Korean music, but I think I'll look for it next time I go crate digging - I know an artist that just does that. As for the turntable - it's a budget priced Audio Technica turntable that's a replica of Technics 1200(I think thats the model). Nothing too fancy, but it spins records and doesn't damage them so I'm happy.

DKDKTV

Yes. as in fuxx YES. Any genre is fine although I would be more interested in jazz/indie fusion with traditional Korean if you got any. At one time I had ~5 to 600 33 1/3 rpm records. 50 or so 45's and ~100 more 78 rpm albums. What kind of turntable did you get? I was a bit of audiophile back in the day and had a electronically guided parallel tracking Technics then a similar B&O turntable that cost about ~500/1000 bucks in the late '70's

Frank Ansak

YES! This sounds like such a dope idea. Always love hearing new music

I have some rock and 80s pop. I actually buy mostly based on artwork because a lot of the albums aren't even searchable on the Internet.

DKDKTV

Nice suggestion, but I think Google Drive requires too many steps for the download. I think I'll just create a channel, post it as unlisted, and put it up here.

DKDKTV

I love the idea. Even better if you go into the rock side (I’ve become a big fan of Gostwind and Jambinai) or even ambient electronic, punk and other genres besides pop but you have to keep your audience and own preferences in mind.

You could always create a Google Drive for these where you share them specifically here or does unlisted content get flagged too? AS far as songs, maybe these obscure tracks will be permissible if they are listed in Youtube's audio library?
