It's definitely difficult to change the system when the people who run the system feel endangered by it. Thus society sometimes needs some shock therapy for everyone to realize the problems it has and evoke change over those who run the system. Like what happened last year with our president being impeached. The MeToo movement is along the same lines as that.

It is almost always amazing, disgusting and ironic to me that many/most (not all) of the group in power (in this case white American men and SK men) suddenly become "snowflakes" when they are the target of a tiny amount of the institution prejudice, sexism (racism or whatever) that they have either directly or indirectly been guilty of supporting for eons! So these type of social "wrongs/attitudes" are almost always difficult to correct and most societies/very large groups of people tend to over compensate. It is partially a product of trying to govern million or billions of people...some one will most likely get "burned". In these situations I usually ask myself and friends: Is it more fair to continue to adversely affect the oppressed party or the group that has been in the power position? Who by the way, the majority of whom have benefited from legal or societal advantages that are /were not equally shared among all groups!

2018-03-22 20:11:51 +0000 UTCThe Pence rule is meant as punishment and an attempt to subdue women in their previous roles. It’s childish and immature. Although less pronounced and widespread (so much for western culture being more open) I have more than a few people (men actually) saying such things. A proper man doesn’t need the Pence rule. Insecure men and/or those who would display the behavior sparking metoo do.
