I wasn't expecting you to talk about your dad. It hit home with me.

I think Melon already counts one stream per hour per song. But that still doesn’t stop fans from creating multiple accounts.

Thank you very much! I enjoy recording them too. Very personal experience :)

Hmm I don't know if MNET would have any incentive to really block a group from PAK. PAK is more of a bragging right for fans than for companies really. As someone who has worked in a distributor that handled the distribution of the Big 3 labels as well as owning one of the top 3 streaming services in Korea, I can say the companies don't really care about who tops what. Contrary to what some fans believe they are quite detached from the entire KPOP fandom culture, and actually kinda hate it all together because of so many annoying fans they have to deal with on a daily basis haha. But who knows, if the artist that was topping the charts was distributed by MNET then that could be a possibility.

Its very interesting to hear your perspectives about these various issues. I enjoy listening to your podcasts. Its insightful.

I completely agree with what you said about it being funny that people think that charts have integrity period. As someone who’s active on twitter I see all the little tutorials from Armys, Exols, Agahses etc about how properly “stream” songs so what you said about the charts probably more accurately showing who has the bigger fandom is correct in my opinion. Also do you think it’s possible that the streaming companies themselves could possibly be the ones manipulating the charts? For example, I can’t remember which group it was but they were #1 on all platforms when their song was released except for Mnet I think, on mnet a very old song was number 1 which blocked that group from getting an “PAK/Perfect All Kill(Topping all charts). WannaOne debuted about a week later and they were suddenly able to top Mnets chart even though the previous groups were being blocked by an old song. Some found this a little suspicious but it wasn’t a controversy

Yeah retiring as in forced out. They give you unimportant positions, in order to make you feel smaller, or extremely demanding and difficult jobs, so that they'll have no choice to resign. I'd say it's more inhumane than just firing.

DKDKTV

Yeah I never saw him really down like that in my life, so it made me realize he is human too. I guess I always took granted his sacrifices and hard work, because he never complained about it. I will definitely let him know that the family cares about him.

DKDKTV

40~50 is not old at any levels, considering lots of people live to be 90~100 nowadays. It's really the sad reality in Korea and that's why we have a senior poverty rate of 40 something percent, which is depressing. And I will definitely make sure to send him a hug :)

DKDKTV

So when you were talking about retirement of people earlier than your Dad. I'm assuming that you mean they are "retiring from corporate-life" (actually forced-out)? That segment did remind of my Dad, who didn't work as hard as your Dad but mostly hated his job (Btw our move to BC was for a try in a career change for him, which didn't work out) and died at the age of 61. So he never got the chance to potential enjoy retirement. Nice to hear a more meaningful song from Psy good choice for an out-tro

I'm so sorry to hear about your dad. I hope that you take the time to verbally express your appreciation for the sacrifices he's made for your family. I'm sure he's feeling a little defeated after decades of hard work but knowing that if his company doesn't appreciate him, that his family does would probably be meaningful. We really take our parents for granted and it wasn't until I almost lost my dad to a heart attack that I realized how for granted I took his presence in my life. and everything he has quietly done for me in my life. Also, I do hope you eventually get him on the channel because I would love to see you guys do a kpop reaction together since you said he was a big fan of kpop these days. I wish him the best and lots of love to your dad and all the dads and moms out there who work in less than ideal conditions to support their family and give them the best lives possible.

The freezing of the charts is to stop streaming during zombie hours From the lineup I did not think that today's podcast would make me tear up like it did. It really breaks my heart to think that a lot of people in companies are being treated the same way as your dad or that they're just shunned as they get older. Also 40's & 50's is really not that old in today's times, companies are losing out on so many years of experience and knowledge that it's not even funny. It reminded me a lot of my own dad, so when you see yours again give him a big hug from the patreons (but don't tell him it's from us because that would be weird) Thanks for sharing this with us **As for podcast names - I don't have a clue; I'm really bad at naming things so I was hoping the others had ideas.
