Lilly I have taken your advice, and will announce my decision in the next podcast - though I kinda already did spoil it.

Well since this is an offline venue we're talking about, we can't really just 'try it out' for a few weeks. The landlords here want a one year contract usually at the minimum. And regarding acupuncture - I've never actually heard about that. It's really cool haha. But I'm doubtful that anesthesia via acupuncture would be enough to cover the pain for a surgery.

DKDKTV

Yes, definitely need someone experienced helping me. I will look for someone for sure.

DKDKTV

I'm sure there is some similar rules in Korea too, but no one really knew about them until people started recording during the surgeries.

DKDKTV

Jill you are right, I am the type of person that basically tries to do everything and then gets overwhelmed haha. I did learn from this experience that I shouldn't jump at every single opportunity I get. I should assess it more carefully, I need more chill, and also look at my tattoo more often(I've gotten used to it, so I'm almost not even aware of it at this point.)

Thanks for the lengthy advice. I truly agree that it's really important to get the roles and responsibilities distributed and set properly, before the business actually opens. I think that's part of the problem with our channel (though it's only two people, so it doesn't affect us too much) is that we all do everything haha. I'm sure we could save time if we had distinct divided roles on our business end, but since we knew nothing going in, we just did what we thought was 'fair'. Now it's kinda too late to change that culture we have between us, since we're so used to this rhythm. If it works don't fix it I guess.

DKDKTV

Hey everyone thanks so much for all your comments! I did read them, but didn't have the time to respond until now, since I was so busy with moving and unpacking everything(193boxes!). I have taken all your advices into account and made a decision - I'll let you guys know in the next podcast.

DKDKTV

If you have doubts already then maybe delaying this business decision until you are confident with the business model is the best way to go. I agree with your comments on iKON, they definitely have the formula right. Looking forward to seeing them live here in Sydney in a couple of weeks. Good luck with the move.

For the business venture, could you start without signing a contract for the first 6 weeks? Just to see how things go, then decide mid-November. If I knew your Vedic ascendant, I could look up probabilities for you, but ascendants change a lot throughout the day someone's born (hence why you need the time of birth.) You can use one of those online calculators to find out your birth chart: https://www.prokerala.com/astrology/birth-chart/ There's that guy on youtube I studied from, he knows the subject in depth and gives general predictions: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K7MiDefEl0E Don't worry about the unfamiliar terms, he still explains what to expect. About CCTV cameras in operation rooms, that goes a bit far. The cheapest option: using acupuncture for anaesthesia. The patient stays conscious throughout the procedure, with no side effects. Now for Goo Hara: I have friends who'd been in relationships with what people call "perverse narcissists". It starts like a "fairy tale", but at some point they get threats and physical abuse. They're too scared to break up sometimes, so they live in fear and may even have an affair. Because they're not happy but are too scared about facing the consequences if they ask to break up. Goo Hara was said to have been bullied as a kid, so chances are she could be emitting frequencies of abuse without being aware of it. Her ex, if he has bullying tendencies, would've likely been attracted to those and they started dating. Oh yeah, about genitals: It's not about the size, it's about how you move. ;) And compatibilities between moon nakshatras (yoni kuta.)

About your business, good luck. In the US, about 60% of bars fail. I would totally patronize a bar with good indie bands, but it seems like you need someone with bar/restaurant experience to make you successful. Look for someone who can talk.to you about small businesses before you open.

Hey Danny, regarding the first topic, in the US situations leading to CCTV in operating rooms (esp any pics) would be a HUGE HIPAA violation in the US (possibly leading to medical disbarment). If someone were under general anesthesia there would normally be more that 2 ppl in the room and ppl in the US take HIPAA VERY seriously and would likely report an offences (esp about patient privacy)

Btw were the 2 songs sold outsourced ones or Junyoung's? If outsourced did they need to be amended. re-mixed/re-mastered?

Hi Danny. Thanks for the podcast. Since you asked for advice and sound like you really want it, I'll share my thoughts with you. +++++ Unless I'm mixed up on details, I think this the third business/professional endeavor you have gotten involved in just the past four to six weeks: 1) the contract you signed along with David which I was never clear on - you and David seemed happy about it at the time; 2) the whole Unnie thing; 3) this. +++++ The first two turned out to be clearly not good ventures and fortunately, there are no longterm repercussions from those. You seem to be in a transition phase right now. I think it would be good to slow down. In general, I think it's not a good idea to make major commitments like this during a transition phase. +++++ The place you described wanting to open sounded super cool but after learning more about it, I think it is a bad idea to move on it now. Regarding the two people who are looking forward to doing this venture with you, you don't owe anyone a commitment like this. I am glad for you that haven't spent any money or signed any contracts. +++++ I'm sure you'll figure out what's best for you. In the meantime, be here now. :)

A public venue business is very time consuming...like a restaurant. You may not be "serving" the public so many hours, but the time to book artists etc... adds up. And if you don't know much about it you need to research it and work even harder. Plus if you don't understand/studied business very well/much ; you are at higher risk for failure. If it's a bar who is going to manage it, your friends/partners? Also if it's going to be a bar than it's more analogous to my restaurant- business-comparison. And if you have a bar you are now essentially running two businesses. So if you do it and you have muliple responsibilities you need a larger %. Good Luck I knew different people that owned cafes, bars and I was the business guy when I played in a very modest rock/dance band for about a year! That's one way I made a bit of money when I was stationed in Iceland while in the Navy and after I got out while playing soccer has an ameteur. Btw a personal criticism: You are smacking your lips, tongue against your cheeks or something like that quite a bit and I find it distracting at best. As a podcaster I think you might want to stop that habit. Lol! I don't make personal criticisms like this on first occurrence/notice I wait till I think it is a habit and or personally annoying enough to change my behavior. In this case I stopped and started the podcast a couple of times. And I was more inclined to by-pass sections that I wasn't as interested in.

CCTVs in surgery rooms? Absolutely. especially if this is a problem that has occurred multiple times. Korea has CCTVs almost everywhere right? I don't see why oversight shouldn't happen in rooms where patients are the most vulnerable. If the doctors are doing what they are supposed to be doing then there should be no issues at all. As an adult I feel like it’s waaaaay too late to get that surgery. If it isn’t done to a baby, don’t do it. Seems traumatic to me to do it at a time you could actually remember him. About the Gu Hara case thanks for the timeline. I keep seeing bits and pieces of information released separately. Based on my understanding of the case my heart goes out to her. Even IF she wanted to take a video in the bounds of trust of her relationship and even IF she cheated it is so fucked up to blackmail someone with a tape like that. Oh no. I’m sorry to hear about the doubts and concerns of your new business plan. It seemed like a neat idea and a way to make content and enjoy a passion project at the same time. I think it’s smart to build a backup form of income for the long term because I don’t think that youtube is a way to sustain money through your later years. I also don’t think that a book on entrepreneurship is the be all end all of any business plan. The fact that you are already viewing it more as a passion project is good. As much as you are splitting 66 percent of the profits you are also splitting 66 percent of the risk and the costs. I do think it will be time intensive and I think it would be more time intensive than you realize. Only you know how your time stacks up and how much time you will be able to spare to this endeavor. On the plus side, you ARE young and worst case you fail but are still financially stable because it sounds like this is your backup plan to your backup plan. I do think over reaching could be a pitfall and you let your other businesses slip through lack of time to properly dedicate to them. If you think you have the time I do think it could be a really cool thing to do and really cool content and I personally would love to patronize your business when I go to Korea because it sounds like it’d be a great time. Is there any way you could find another person with experience with bar/restaurant management to help? Even if it’s only an employee/part time position to ease some of the workload. I think that is honestly going to be the biggest struggle with everything and I think that would really help you get started on the right foot. Starting a bar with NO idea what you are doing with two business partners with no idea what is going on seems like it’s a recipe for disaster. Perhaps sitting down with them about your anxieties about all of this could help them get out of the musician mindset and into the business mindset. If you do start a business with them communication is going to be ESSENTIAL to managing the stress and responsibilities so you don’t end up just taking over everything because you don’t trust them enough to delegate responsibilities. Try talking to them about your worries about time and responsibility management and see what they say about setting up firm responsibilities and balancing since you are working more on the exposure and filming maybe another can be the lead on getting the bar set up and another take the lead on contracting or venue set up or something. Defined roles and clear expectations from all of you could be a way to mitigate your anxiety about the issues. Regardless I think talking to them about your worries should come BEFORE you make your decision and not afterwards, personally.
