Very nice talk guys. even if I joined for the /tea/ I'm gonna continue to support you because I enjoy your videos a lot.

Didi

When did they say that? I must have missed it

Jayluxe

i've seen other YT vids saying how a lot of the initial protests from civilians (fans) were retracted after the initial overreaction but that the govt/business side of things seems to be clinging onto their outrage. i think this makes sense since everything on the internet tends to be an overreaction after media outlets put out their sensational clickbait news. for what it's worth, C-armys, in my personal experience, are some of the most loyal and dedicated so i highly doubt they would drop BTS at the mention of Korean history. as with most of these types of ridiculous "controversies" it's the govt that loves to try to put an embargo on kpop and Korean goods in the name of patriotism and other fake bs, and media that churns out fake news.

As much as it would be nice to just say China doesn't matter to BTS (or any other Kpop group), it does because... M.O.N.E.Y. Still, I don't think RM should do some fake "apology" - he said nothing wrong. It's just good to remember "cultural products" are at the whim of the public - a high risk investment. Music, artists, youtube stars, actors, dramas, etc. it's not "needed" - like steel or oil or rice. The demand/consuming can all disappear in a moment, which is why the industry is volatile. Save your money early, boys! It could all end end in a heartbeat just as easily over some you did seriously wrong, or something stupid, or something completely made up.

I'M HERE FOR TEA. SPILL IT.

On the Irene issue: I wonder how idols have been conditioned/taught about working attitudes/dynamics since their trainee days? One thing I think about a lot is how young these people start their careers and are so malleable in their environment; there are a ton of factors that could've shaped a person's attitudes. At the same time, I also wonder if members in the same group, who don't behave in similar manners, struggle with seeing another member being rude? That must influence how they work together and perceive each other, right?

Victoria Cheng

This is a great question. I’d also like to know this if possible.

Eri

I find it weird that bts is well spoken about/liked when so many songs like idol, mic drop, what do you think, discuss the hate they receive. Is there a difference between BTS’s reputation within other idols compared to the people who work with idols? Or are these songs/lyrics directed toward hate they get from the general public?

Eri

Since you guys have talked abt seeing bang pd complain abt txt in a bar do you guys happens to have insider information on whether they are nice to staff? as well as the other bighit labels grps like seventeen, nuest gfriend and ofc bts☺️

Francesca DC

Bighit from the very beginning has invested a lot of time in instilling values in BTS. If you watch their earlier content the staff put them in situations from which they learned a lot. Like when they made BTS clean hotel rooms or making them promote their first concert on the streets. All these experiences have kept them humble. They are who they are today because of these lessons.

Not news related at all but will y'all sell merch again? I'd like to buy another sweatshirt :)

I hate when people say "it's their job" to idols in most contexts. But in this case, I think it's fair to expect celebrities to be decent to staff or at least not lash out for 20 minutes straight. Even if you are not a celebrity, in a professional setting, you gotta keep your cool, no matter what, and how much pressuring your circumstances are. Also the talk about BTS being always nice? Music to my ears. They are the only celebrity that made me get over my cynicism, I would really be dumbfounded if one day I were to be disappointed :D

merisa

In regards to Irene, I think a lot of us already kinda knew irene had a bit of an attitude on her but we just overlooked it or just saw her as misunderstood. That being said, I see way too many excuses being made for her for the way she behaved, or potentially still behaves. People keep using the excuse that artists can't be perfect all the time and can get tired but I don't see that as an excuse at all to mistreat someone. "I'm having a bad day? Let me just take it out on another person who doesn't have anything to do with it because I don't know how to control or handle my emotions." It's just really sad that she's built up this reputation and had it confirmed it to be true. She was actually one of my favorites in red velvet, so this was sad to see but not surprising. I genuinely have a distrust for celebrities because they never really are what they appear so this just validified that for me.

Ariel Roberts

Could you talk about what makes an idol nice to work with (since you gave an example during the show like RM and suga, what is it that makes them very nice to work with) and also what makes an idol bad to work with (maybe some examples).

Honestly, I think the whole BTS/ China controversy is so fucking ridiculous💀 I know China isn't exactly a democratic country and they have a rather apparent state-driven ideology that doesn't always exactly align with reality but I can't believe how far this situation has been taken. I'm sure they get all their acceptance speeches approved by BigHit and I'm sure the staff is cautious about not creating any controversy so the fact that RM's statement was kept in there just shows how barely political it was and how overblown the Chinese reactions are.

Johanna

It was Irene and not Seulgi.

Keith Señerez

Hi guys, Steve_Lurk_Ho here, lol. In the first segment you mentioned that this guy killed himself because he couldn't prove his innocence. Doesn't your system of justice say that a person IS innocent until he is proven guilty ? So why should he have to prove his innocence? Or am I wrong ? Maybe u can speak a little more about it. Great show, I was thirsty for tea. Lol

Steven Pambello

Can we talk about the nicest to rudest kpop idols

RS

From the information that’s been coming out the girl clearly didn’t you do her job correctly still not an excuse to lash out at people but I’m not going to side with either of them if seulgi’s dissatisfaction was not expressed correctly I’m sure she has learned her lesson. The editor I’m not sure what her role is I’m sure had to have felt very distressed and had to get it of her chest. Not sure if this is true but some of the accounts that backed her story were not real accounts and other people in the industry have come out to support Seulgi. I think her and the group will be fine since I think the general consensus is everyone makes mistakes and are kinda excusing her for now. It’s very bad timing though since SM has plans for Red Velvet in the next year you don’t want to mess with a company’s revenue source and this editor and her working connections with k-pop are pretty much done and now she’s messed up her own income who will want to work with her now?

I actually dont care about other idols who are not under bighit because i feel like i have not accepted them as artists musically. Second, china should be warry of what they are doing because we know what really happened with south korea. Like in american history we are taught why we should hate china but we do not hate them because its the past and we are trying to be better people. Chinese should not forget that they helped north korea and divided the country and they should know that they withdrew from the war against japan leading to japan ruling korea. Thefore, if they had not left the war, korea could not have bad history in the first place. Therefore, asking for consideration is nothing but them pretending to be ignorant of what they have done. Third this is just a scheme by china to reduce BTS influence in their country and some korean people have a say to this. I know they are koreans trying to boycott bighit because they are now trying to get money from stocks hence they are degrading its value by attacking its source and thats BTS but those idiots should not underestimate armys because we will buy that album from everywhere to make them sell more.

Tee Lee

I think what Irene did was inexcusable and it's really a shame that it's obviously an issue that's been happening for a while. I wonder if the idol lifestyle is conducive tostuff like this because they don't have any time to decompress. At a normal 9 to 6 job you can probably hold it in until you get home and take it out somehow. But if you're an idol there are a ton of eyes on you for days at a time.

Tess Austin

Idols should be aware of their actions all the time. They are called “Idols” for a reason. Yes, they are humans, but they should remember this is also their job that they signed. Hopefully the issue regarding RV’s Irene, will give a big warning to those idols or celebrities who are having some “attitude problems”. Once is okay, twice is enough, Trice is too much, but more than that is already called a hobby.

Keith Señerez

I read on twitter that C-ARMYs aren't boycotting BTS albums, but I'm not sure if that's valid info, and it might not matter either way if Chinese companies are blacklisting BTS
