I have had so many thoughts after listening to this (and your monthly council, etc), which I may or may not ever have a chance to write down — but than you for the food for thought, anyway. Danny, fyi: I'm currently finishing up nursing school. One of the things our instructors and standardized tests keep repeating is Maslow's Heirarchy of Needs. It's a concept taken from psychology, and the idea behind it is an individual will have great difficulties developing as a person if basic needs that are lower in the hierarchy aren't addressed. The most basic and most important tier in that hierarchy is phsyiological needs. That category includes items that are necessary to simply survive, such as food, shelter, clothing, etc. It also includes SEX. So, yes, sex is a basic human need--which is what I think you were trying to point out in this episode.

I really loved this episode. You went from the DMZ to sex dolls all in one episode. I find it strange that they opened a park in the DMZ. Doesn’t treating the area as a tourist destination defeat the purpose? As for the issues with Japan, please continue to update us. It may seem that this only effects these 2 countries but I think it will have ripple effects. Sex dolls huh? Well I find it funny that the gov’t had to legalize this. I believe that what consenting adults do in their bedroom is their business. I don’t think that these dolls are objectifying women. I can see how the people who want them feel they need them but I think overall it could lead to them having a disconnection with reality. But I do agree with you Danny that there is a basic human need for sex and intimacy. I think to call the lack of sex a disability is not the right word. Maybe an impairment that prevents people from living a more fulfilling life. Sex definitely improves mental health - which improves overall quality of life. Good job. Keep it coming. Hahaha

Agree with your points on sex dolls Danny. The Korean govt appears to treat its citizens as children by banning stuff and many citizens seem to be used to this relationship and expect to be highly regulated. I think this relationship between govt and people is quite prevalent across Asia and I have hope for greater freedoms in Asia. Meanwhile I'll enjoy living in Aus! I hope sex can be talked about more freely and maturely in Korea and, tbh it could be improved in Western countries. Sex is not disgusting - it is beautiful and/or can be many positive things. I don't know any virgins because it is considered generally shameful to admit it in Australia. In any case, there is lots of scientific evidence that consentual sex has psychological benefits. Keep fighting the good fight Danny.

I feel like I can get behind most of your opinions, Danny. Even the more out there ones. But calling sex a basic human right? People who can't have sex could be considered disabled? It's a no from me, dog. Ending with Love Shot was a nice touch though.

I honestly think there are people who are incapable? of having sex with another human being and so..... they should be taken care of. Because it is a human desire... you don’t need it to survive but.. it might be hard to normally function without it.. Maybe how to date lectures? Idk. Therapy? Sex dolls probably wont help with their self esteem or mental problems tho... it might give them more problems and make them more out of touch with society and reality.
