Everglow Interview without ENG subtitles

That was a quick compact interview! I can't stop smiling.

Test your Korean skills in the meantime :)

Thanks for putting up the subtitled video. It's hard to believe that as many streams at their first two songs got that they aren't being noticed more in their home market, but that is likely an indication of how overcrowded the market is and that you need some luck to get noticed and separate yourself from the crowd such as GFriend's viral video of them slipping and falling repeatedly while soldiering through performing in the rain or Hani's fancam for Up & Down going viral. Otherwise, it's hard to peel fans away from established groups or compete with the marketing dollars of the established or bigger companies. I think one thing that will help this group is when Choi Yena finishes up with IZ*One and likely joins this group in progress. She will bring a large Korean fanbase with her, good stage skills and presence, and her variety/comedic skills are among the best in the business. I think she will boost this group's profile in many ways. At least the good news is that this group is very popular with international fans and if they keep growing overseas perhaps it will eventually cause them to get noticed in Korea. They have placed very well on the Billboard World Digital Songs chart, and if they can just bump their sales up a bit, they can maybe cross into the Hot 100 chart and that will get them some more attention.

We have put in English subtitles and the video will be up on our channel soon! Everglow isn't mainstream yet. It probably doesn't have to do with the company because most Koreans don't even know the group, let alone the company.

Thanks for doing this interview. Hopefully this might get subtitled in English as some point, or eventually I will translate it slowly by reading the Korean subtitles. Is this group being slept on by Koreans as much as I am hearing largely due to the company being Chinese-owned? That would be sad as their songs have been great. They seem very popular here in the US among K-pop fans. I don't know if that is because their song selection appeals to Western ears more than Korean ones. I've watched this group's variety show on M2 and they seem nice and fun. How did you guys manage to arrange the interview? I'm sorry that we didn't get a chance to meet while I was in Korea two weeks ago as it would have been fun to speak with you about the industry and Korea in general.

Lmao!!! We did quite a good job eh?
