Good podcasts helps me live in the now, good podcast πŸ‘. Also if you’re an adult you should take care of your own money. If you’re rich your β€œpeople” should take care of your money. People being reputable, licensed, financial people.

D

But Danny - if you build it they will come. πŸ™‚

Never mix family with money. If there's famous cases there, why do people continue to do it? It's not worth something going wrong and hard feelings and breaking families apart. It is NOT common here in the US for family members to control your money unless you are like special needs(whatever politically correct term is now days) or something. I cut off my mom from "lending" her more money because I knew I was never going to see it. She was always, "tax returns are coming next month and I'll pay you back then and that time would pass and I'd never see it. I knew when I "lent" her the money each time, it was just a gift. It was always $50 dollars here, $25 dollars there and getting into the thousands of dollars total and i told her that I'm an adult now and need to start saving for my future and stuff and she took it pretty good. There are some famous cases here in US of celebrity kids having parents as their "manager" and then money goes missing/swindled away etc. Kids sueing their parents at 18 and stuff. You think your parents are your best advocate and stuff but as you said, money does stuff to people, ESPECIALLY large sums that they've never handled before...it can get out of hand quick! Anyways, best not to involve anyone in your money that you wouldnt want to lose as a friend, family member etc over it.

I wrote it in a previous comment, but yes I agree. The only professional sport in Korea that attracts an average attendance of over 10,000 is baseball. The typical sport played in arenas - basketball attracts an average attendance of 3,000. So to think that they'll have enough music / convention events to make 5 arenas profitable is overly ambitious.

DKDKTV

Thank you. The same to you. Happy New Year!

DKDKTV

I would say even 2 might be risky too, American arenas are built for sports teams, but currently the only professional sport that attracts an average attendance of over 10,000 is baseball. The typical sport played in arenas - basketball attracts an average attendance of 3,000.

DKDKTV

Happy New Year Tatyana, looks like you need to read the Power of Now πŸ˜‚ I'm sounding like a cult. I don't think I would be okay with even my mom handling my money lol I don't even tell my parents how much I make... should I trust them more?

DKDKTV

I don't know about Faker but his teammates definitely bought buildings, so I'm sure he has enough money to buy a building. Money doesn't really seem to be the highest priority to him, since he didn't sign to a Chinese club because he was happy with what he had in Korea. Still a millionaire nontheless πŸ˜‚

DKDKTV

Wow so much respect for you Maiz... 6 months in the ICU I would not last a day there. The nurses there seemed so chill compared to the stuff that was happening all around them, I guess they have to keep composure and not become emotionally attached otherwise the job becomes too stressful for them. Also your 5 weeks with nature off grid sounds like paradise to me.

DKDKTV

Yay another Eckhart Tolle reader! I guess the winds were due to there being a typhoon, anyway it was very scary πŸ˜‚ 2020 Eskirit

DKDKTV

That's why I give my parents zero money

DKDKTV

Thank you Dr. Steve Hoe I agree with everything you've said. Take control of life... now to remember that for the rest of the year hahaha

DKDKTV

Welcome back danny! The arena thing is interesting. Most arenas that I know of in the US aren't made with music in mind anyway. Popular venues like the United Center and Madison Square Garden are primarily basketball and hockey arenas. I think having arenas specifically for music is an interesting concept though. 5 of them does seem like it'll spread the market quite thin honestly. As far as money goes, having family taking care of your finances as an adult is pretty unusual. You see it mostly with minors. There are many cases of child stars' parents spending all their money so I don't think its wise to have other people in charge of your money unless you dont trust yourself for some reason.

Sara Rosenau

Welcome back! I hope you have a less stressful 2020 at the very least.

great to hear your voice again. in the US it really depends on your job and how much money you are making. i would say for the most part once you become an adult you need to handle your own finances. however if you are making mad cash then i could see family members who have more experience helping manage your finances. but that can cause problems. there are always stories about someone's parents mismanaging their funds. that's why you see some of these starts doing so many different jobs that they might normally do. they need to earn their money back. i think 5 arenas are too ambitious. maybe 2 would be better. right now i have no desire to go to korea to see an artist. the arena's are too big - you can't see them. hopefully this works for them.

Cathy

Happy New Year! I didn't officially make New Year's resolutions but I do have a few goals in mind for this year. And I'm glad your legal issues have passed for the most part. Hopefully, you can live and work with a more clear mind now ^.^ "We gotta get away from the mind" How Sway? Because I'd love to get away from my mind for a day or two or three. My mind is always going. Even about trivial shit. It's exhausting most times. People should not entrust their finances completely to others, even if they only spend $200 a month. In the US, mixing family and money/business is usually a huge hell nah. Hopefully this guy is keeping an eye on his money. If I was making $5 million a year, I'd be okay with my mom (and only my mom) having access to it for her personal spending but I'd still be in complete control of it (with the help of a Financial Planner). I remember Taemin, from SHINee, said a few years ago that his parents managed his money. I was a little surprised but not really that shocked because, to me, that sounded like the Korean thing to do lol. And I can't judge him for being boring because I am HELLA boring. My days are spent going to work and then watching YouTube when I get home ._. Anyway, glad to see you're continuing Danny From the Seoul :)

Tatyana M

I really like Faker I think he's cute lol! but yeah boring if he does not spend little more to have fun or maybe he have other plans for investments like buying a building or so! how long will he be relevant in gaming community! everytime there is a new rising star. plus he's really young 23 years old having that much money would be too much to handle so having someone mature handling and must be trust worthy and I hope the relative he mentioned would be trusted with that much money. as for my case I trust no one lol! Having my bank handling my money and special accountant while I check monthly statements and see where my money goes and come! but usually here parents handle the money until they see their son/daughter old enough to take care of it, also depends how much money we talking about but I hope faker would do something more that just stay home read books and play video games! Thank you for the Podcast that was nice to listen while im having a break take care and will wait for the ep2

The power of now book we usually give it for the Addicts in rehab to help them out with path of recovery and I read it too, it's very inspiring we should all live now forget the past and future will come eventually :D I worked in ICU for 6 months and it was the most depressing times for me plus my Grandma and my Uncle both died while I was working there so watching them die was very depressing T_T I hope your Grandpa is doing well and wish him a good health btw fight or flight we all have it and going for flight it does not mean you're scared or being irresponsible "well that what I used to think" until my psychologist professor at college told me that being mature when you go for flight you dont need to act up and confront everything "cuz you will lose it" "your mind" so when you take a break and leave everything behind is the healthy way of being an Adult, at that time I didnt understand what he meant until I actually started working and meeting people and responsibilities being thrown at me from every side, people leave, talk shit about me, my loved ones got terminal disease and died, so what I did I just left!!! I left everyone for 5 weeks spent time with nature with no internet and no toxic people around me and when I came back I had so much energy to do better and let things go... So I think what you did was really good and you should from time to time take a mental break and spend time with yourself :D

Hi Danny, I'm happy to hear that your legal stuff was resolved and you're doing well. It's pretty awesome that your grand-dad is so fit at 84. Defs. #LifeGoals. This podcast was enjoyable cos I occasionally learn new things off you or your thoughts make me re-examine my personal mindset on certain topics. I'm already familiar with Ekhart Tolle so this was kinda like a bookclub discussion for me. About the money thing and relatives: for sure, I agree that the gamer needs to have personal oversight and take at least basic professional financial/legal advice. In my country, money problems in the family happen pretty much the same as in Korea but it's way more common to be regarding inhertitances/abuse of family trust funds. Also, it's not common for it to be that windy on a tropical island unless you're very close to a beach. Looking forward to the music single. All the best with the work/life balance goals for 2020. πŸ‘EskgetitπŸ‘

It's great to know that you got to realign your perspective this New Year. Happy to hear from you. Also, giving your money to someone from managing it just sounds like inviting trouble. It's common among families but that is just like inviting potential disputes.

Danny from the Seoul Ep. 1. I absolutely loved it. You have the right voice for it. Congratulations on assuming control of your life. There is an old saying: what the ear hears and the eye sees, the mind believes. If u allow circumstances to dictate your life, u can very easily and usually without realizing it, have your life spin out of control as u experienced. When you dictate the circumstances and assume control of your mind instead of allowing it to run wild, u end up living a happier and more fulfilling life. Life is too short to waste and no matter how much money you make, I've never seen an armoured car following a hearse. You can't take it with you. You need to enjoy your life while you can. Like everything in life, its all about balance. Now about those arenas, 5 ? Really ? That's a bit over the top. Three would be more like it and location is everything ! And finally the money issue. In the US, anyone foolish enough to turn over total control to another person, relative or not, without having oversight control is begging to be taken advantage of. It becomes too enticing and nothing good will come of it. Professional relationships get destroyed and families get torn apart. It just isn't worth it. You must assume control of your own destiny. Otherwise when things happen and you know they will, you won't be prepared and can quickly find yourself in a bad situation, financially, physically and mentally. By assuming control or at the very least, having oversight, you'll feel better about yourself. So keep doing what your doing and i'm very happy that your feeling better. This commentary brought to you by Dr. Steve Hoe from Jersey. Us Ho's have to stick together. Lolol
