I think Trot can be seen as kind of an eqivalent to "Schlager" in Germany.

Hey Danny and David got my shoes from Nakd Seoul today. Also just so happen to be going on a date. So they are getting their first wear as well! Wish me luck. Thanks for the shoes! ❤️

I will miss this after show. I wish I could make it, but I gotta work. I have so many emotions wrapped up in the last week’s events. The first news out disturbed me as I have always been seen by most white men as an object (#yellowfever) to own or abuse. I experience overt sexual harassment in public. Since this pandemic started, all I wanted was to be back in Seoul where I have a level of anonymity that allows me to relax. Being hyper visible in the US is a curse, and now, the Cheeto (no longer Chief) has created an atmosphere where I cannot feel safe leaving my home. I have written about so many of these things in my blog over the years. And recently, I had started reading them aloud on my YT channel. The best way for me to illustrate the racism and overt harassment is to share my recent YT. https://youtu.be/B8FXBvgPDZk

Right?! I tried to get it. Someone gave me a website to listen to it, but no downloads.

#StopAsianHate. In the US, the unfortunate reality is that, most people don’t differentiate between different Asian cultures and countries. The Asian country talked about most in the media is China, so that’s the first country and group that comes to mind when they think of Asian people. White supremacists aren’t stopping to think about whether the Asian person they’re enraged at is Korean or Philippino or not, they hate China, therefor all Asian people are Chinese and an enemy to them.

Non-related question: in your opinion and knowledge of the industry, why isn’t Rap Monster the mixed tape not available on ITunes?

Laura

The same, could we kindly ask Danny or David to make video of Trot History Explained :)

About #StopAsianHate: My condolences to everyone, who is affected by this. Not only was the shooting another tragedy but the way the media and the cops handle this situation angers me so much. If that murderer was a muslim he would be called a terrorist, if he was black he would be called a thug and if he was asian he would also get a fancy name that white murderers will never ever get just because white people don't even want to admit that the biggest number of shootings are caused by white dudes. They save the fancy names for the minorities so people will remember, to what group the thugs and terrorists belong and that those minorities are the problem, not the 'well-behaved, educated' white man. He only has bad days. How ridiculous is this? Like they literally said he had a bad day? WHAT?! Say that to the families of the victims that will have a lot of bad days after losing their loved ones or to Asian people that fear for their life when going outside. How many bad days do they have and are still not running around shooting white people? No matter what kind of color you are, if you spread terror, you're a terrorist and should be also called and treated as such, no discussion. And about Blacknut: tbh rappers should just diss without mentioning names. I don't think it's possible to sue someone if they don't mention you're name but Idk. And if the rapper feels the desperate need to mention the name in his diss track than he shouldn't be surprised if he gets sued and should be prepared for that xD there are fire diss tracks like UGH and Cypher that don't need names in it and are still fire.

I would love to hear more about trot! What is it? What makes it unique to Korea? What is the history? How can it be more relatable to a younger audience? Why is it most seen as a senior preference? Is it really that old fashioned that younger people hate to listen to it?

Racist people will always be racist people. It's unfortunate but that's how it is. They will always try to seize upon any opportunity to flaunt their racism. For example, the corona virus originated in China but had nothing to do with the Chinese people, it was their government. All of a sudden every Asian is Chinese. The shooter in Georgia said it wasn't racial, it was sexual. Yeah, and people under arrest have never lied. You have to wonder though, he's gona be screwed for killing 8 people what more could they do to him by calling him a racist. Maybe, in this instance, it's not racism. We'll never know. But even if there were no incidents to seize upon, they would still be racists. Before I retired, my prior employment brought me into contact with countless people with all sorts of issues but I never let race affect my decisions. I wish it was a simple matter just to educate, but racist people were probably raised that way by racists parents and so on. I'm thankful my parents raised me to be respectful. I am a firm believer to judge others by the content of their character and not by the color of their skin. Martin Luther King said that way back before I even knew what racism was. He was so right ! Maybe if we keep focusing attention and keep educating we might reduce the amount of individual racism but I fear it will take one or two generations before we can rid ourselves of this problem. We just have to keep trying. You guys are italian right ? Lol just kidding. Quack Quack.
