I guess Thursday's my Moonlight Wanderers day?  :P

As you might have noticed from Rain, I don't draw a lot of non-humans.  I've never felt particularly confident in my ability to draw animals, leading to none of the characters having pets (excluding Rain's rabbit, Puddle, who I included last minute because I had just gotten a rabbit myself around that time).  In the case of a story like Rain, I don't think it's that important to have lots of creatures, but it's something I want to improve upon for later.  Future stories, like Magical or Shangri-La for instance, will have more need for me to work out various creatures (both basic, normal animals, and dangerous monsters).

One of the reasons I wanted to do a Nuzlocke comic is because it gives me a reason to work on exactly that; it forces me to have to draw a bunch of creatures of varying shapes and sizes.  It's not likely that there'll be many (or any) seals in anything else I do, mind you, but the act of forcing myself out of my comfort zone and drawing different kinds of things than I'm used still helps.

So here's a small selection of Pokemon that'll be seen fairly early on in Moonlight Wanderers.  The Pokemon fan in me wants to prioritize practicing with all the stuff Maya catches and show them off right away.  But the storyteller in me feels that showing all the catches upfront spoils some of the fun.  So I think the only one I'll confirm as a catch is Popplio (the little blue seal), as it's Maya's starter, and one you'll be seeing a lot of.  The Cutiefly, Pikipek, and Butterfree also shown here though, we'll just have to wait and see what role they play.
