New issue! Nin Harris, Naru Dames Sundar, Kari Sperring, Year-in-review

... and we're back. Happy new year!

We've got a great new issue to kick off 2016 for you: it includes Nin Harris's story "Tower of the Rosewater Goblet", a poem by Naru Dames Sundar, Kari Sperring's latest Matrilines column, and our annual year in review feature, and if that last doesn't add at least three items to your wishlist, you're either stronger or much better-read than me. Possibly both.

It being a shiny new year, we also have a few other updates.

First, there's our annual Readers' Poll, where you can pick your five favourite things from each department last year. Please do vote if you get a chance -- it's always fascinating to see what's particularly struck a chord. There's also a general comments box, and we welcome any and all feedback (although you can of course comment here at any time, as well). You've got until Sunday 17th January to vote (and don't worry, I will remind you).

Second, we are recruiting. We're looking for additional proofreaders, additional articles editors, and additional associate editors to help with the running and development of the magazine. Full details at the link -- if any of the roles appeal, do get in touch! You have until 31st January for this one.

Third, and following on from last year's fund drive, we have now officially increased our pay rates for poetry (now $40), columns (now $50) and articles (now $80). If you have something to submit, see our guidelines page for details -- but note that the fiction department is staying closed to submissions until the end of January. We want to make sure we keep a good response time this year, which means clearing a slight backlog of submissions right now.
