Hi all,
A slight change to our usual running order this week, and a bit of a non-fiction bonanza. This week our feature is Graeme Macdonald's Pioneer Award-winning essay on the energy of science fiction (previously published in Paradoxa): it's a long read, but a fascinating one.
We also have an interview with this month's artist, Rhiannon Rasmussen-Silverstein, Eleanor Arnason's latest column, a poem by D. Erik Parkison, and our usual reviews -- starting this week with Nick Hubble's take on two recent collections of reviews, by Adam Roberts and James Lovegrove.
We also have some news, and a project. The former can be found in my editorial: we're saying goodbye to a couple of staff, and hello to several more, most notably our two new Associate Editors, Jane Crowley and Kate Dollarhyde. They'll be helping me out with all things administrative and managerial -- you may even find them posting here some weeks -- and they are both excellent people who I think will be excellent for the magazine.
And then there's our summer project: Our Queer Planet, a bumper-sized month-long celebration of international queer SF. We're looking for submissions across all departments, and planning to publish the special issue this July. We can't wait -- and if you think you might have something suitable, you have until 10th April to send it our way. (If you have any questions, of course, just ask.)
