Happy Monday, lovely readers!
This week, we're pleased to share a special issue with you featuring recent work by and about sff writers from India.
To start, do check out the introduction to this week's issue by Reviews Editor Aishwarya Subramanian. Following that, we have two new pieces of fiction on offer: "Things That Happened While We Waited For Our Magical Grandmother to Die—No. 39" by Kuzhali Manickavel and "The Right Way To Be Sad" by Shankar Gopalakrishnan.
For this week's nonfiction piece, writers Tashan Mehta (The Liar's Weave) and Prayaag Akbar (Leila) and writer-editor Salik Shah (The Mithila Review) got together with Articles Editor Gautam Bhatia to have a conversation about the present and the futures of English-language Indian speculative fiction writing in "Remaking the Difference: A Discussion about Indian Speculative Fiction."
Finally, don't miss Articles Editor Gautam Bhatia's review of Zelaldinus: A Masque by Irwin Allan Sealy, with Aditya Singh's review of The Liar's Weave by Tashan Mehta to come on Wednesday.
Oh, and don't forget -- we're still seeking submissions for our upcoming special issue focusing on the work of writers who are black, indigenous, and/or people of color who are from or have roots in the Southeastern USA. This special issue will be edited by Sheree Renée Thomas, Rasha Abdulhadi, and Erin Roberts. Want the details? Read on!
