Hello new patrons! Thanks for joining our merry band. Between you, you have unlocked our final bonus content this fund drive: Lawrence Schimel's translation of "Terpsichore", by Argentinian writer Teresa P. Mira de Echeverría.
Consider it, among other things, a trailer for our Samovar project: as we hope to do with all the work we translate, we're reprinting the original (in this case, Spanish) language version of the story, and we also have both English and Spanish podcasts. You can find everything at the links below:
Why do it this way? In a spirit of transparency—of showing our working—and a spirit of respect for the original work; and, ultimately, because it's the sort of thing you can do online, so why not?
You'll note that this post also includes another Samovar preview: a draft of the imprint logo, developed by our Art Director Heather McDougal, based on the new SH logo by Matthew Kressel. Those of you who've joined us during the fund drive may not have scrolled back far enough to see that we have a new website in progress. I don't want to tempt fate by tying us to a launch date, but it should be a matter of weeks now, and not months.
Exciting times! But first: the last three-and-a-half days of the fund drive.
