Hi all,
Happy April! Here's our first issue for the month:
http://strangehorizons.com/issue/3-april-2017/
This week's story is "Love Pressed in Vinyl" by Devon Wong, which is about love and urban legends; we have not one but two poems for you, by Rose Victor and José González Vargas (plus our podcast of March's poems); and reviews looks at André M. Carrington's book on speculative blackness, Ryu Ando's poetry, and a digital-afterlife novella by Martin Felipe Castagnet.
And ... I've buried the lede a little, because this issue also contains an editorial by me, announcing that I'm stepping down from Strange Horizons, and handing over the editor-in-chiefship to Kate Dollarhyde and Jane Crowley.
As I say there, it wasn't an easy decision, but it does feel like the right time. It's been a joy and an honour to work on this magazine, with the staff and contributors and readers it's had over the last decade -- but I have now been working on it in one capacity or another for over a decade, and I think that's enough. SH is at its best when it's pushing and growing and changing, and I'm very much looking forward to seeing where Jane and Kate take things next. I have a feeling the best is yet to come.
