Kickstarter Teaser (and details on my first DnD session!)

I have designed an entirely support-less model for my Kickstarter! Behold, the casual pose for the  spider! It is fitted to a 25mm diameter circle base. So it'll fit nicely on any standard mat! Of course you can scale and print as you please~

Also... I finally played my first D&D game last Saturday!! It was LOVELY! It was an 8 hour one shot that we decided to extend to another session. All of our characters woke up together in a different world. Our parents had all sold us off for various reasons. Some of us knew, but most didn't. I play as a Wood Elf beast master ranger named Klo Willow who has a Raven named Ed. (Short for Edrazi).

Klo was in complete denial of being sold off, and quite adamant that her adoptive parents (gnomes) loved her. It was both a serious and silly campaign and really was everything I'd hoped for. I'm pretty introverted, but it wasn't emotionally exhausting at all to my surprise. It was a trip for me to see my minis in use :) Though we also had some practical crafty minis too. We used red pipe cleaners for fire snakes which I quite loved.

My raven, Ed, is the green die haha I have since then properly sculpted a raven. It will also be part of my Kickstarter :)

If you read that whole story, props to you and I hope you have a lovely night!

Lots of introverts come to the table, where they can extrovert in safety. And then retreat. :) glad you enjoyed the hobby I've been playing for longer than you've been around. ;)

Jason Hatter

I definitely will! I'm excited to see what will come of it~

I too am a bit of an introvert, and tabletop gaming helps me get out of that box, it's a great hobby, which your mini's are a part of now :D Enjoy the D&D tell us when you venture into other systems (Bets are on we see mini's for the new systems as soon as the inspiration bug hits )

ThabianGD

Thanks Scott :D Hahaha I know, I know. I can already see it. And I already want to DM XD haha

M3DM

It was great :D Thank you so much for the kind words too! Now more than ever I'm particularly having fun modeling minis!

M3DM

Thank you so much Rob! Funny you mention, I'm really interesting in being the DM too. World building sounds really fun, and I think I'd like the preparation just as much as the actual game haha

M3DM

Oh yeah, I can definitely see the kids loving it. I wish I played earlier! And thanks on the Kickstarter well wishes :D I think it is going to go well, and I'm really excited!

M3DM

Hahaha glad you like the little dude!

M3DM

First - great spider! Love it. Second - BUWAHAHAHA you've caught the tabletop RPG bug. Soon you'll be playing multiple games, DMing a game or two, all while creating custom modeled and printed minis and terrain to supply them with stuff. At least thats what happened to me :P

Scooteroo

Sounds like a great first session! Glad to hear you're enjoying playing as much as we all are enjoying getting to play with the minis you've designed!

Kevin Waterman

Congrats on your first session, it sounds like a blast. I only started playing D&D for the first time about 6 months ago. While I really liked playing, I decided that I would probably make a better DM than player. D&D is the ONLY reason that I got into 3D printing as well, and I am thrilled so far with your models. Your spider looks amazing and I am excited to print it.

Rob Laycock

I used to love playing the old text rpg's eg Zork. Having lots of paper to map out where I had been, used to be a fun pass time for the family - kids used to love it. Grats on an exceptional model, you do stand out with the way you detail models. I hope you kick a lot of goals with your kickstarter experience.

Love the spider, reminds me of Shelob "Attercop! Attercop! Won't you stop, Stop your spinning and look for me! Old Tomnoddy, all big body, Old Tomnoddy can't spy me! Attercop!"

you'd be surprised how many anti-social people get in to D&D. For whatever reason it seems to attract lots of em! And, in my experience, seems to really help them with the social aspects of themselves. Good luck and hope your gaming group turns out to be everything you hope it to be!

Eric moss

Totally weird, I agree haha I think it is because I'm not a super social person but I LOVE fantasy. Lots of video games and books growing up :)

M3DM

i find it odd that you went from being into miniatures to D&D instead of the other way around! It's usually the other way. That said, congrats on your first session! There is nothing like TTRPG's in my opinion, and they're probably my favorite form of entertainment
