Added 2017-04-01 17:47:37 +0000 UTCMost of you know by now that my auntie D who was like a mother to me passed away Oct 28th. My daddy has in essence the same illness she has and last month we didn't know if he was going to make it, he got an emergency blood transfusions (4in total) and all that jazz and the specialists at the hospital started the process of getting him a biopsy to see if he is viable for a bone marrow transplant, which at this point is the only hope because the medication they've been giving him has not been helping.
Last week Friday we got the news that he is viable for the transplant so that is MAGNIFICENT and I'm incredibly relieved and now we are just waiting on the hospital to find a donor in the donor registry.
(In the case of bone marrow/stem cell transplants there's not a high chance of relatives being donors and it's very expensive to test, so unfortunately they aren't testing me or my family)
What this all means for the near future is that I will be moving to Denver for two to three months in June or July to take care of my daddy once he gets out of the hospital.
It will be rough but my daddy is my best friend and I know I have to be strong for him.
The goal is to get him back to playing jazz concerts and hiking in the Rocky Mountains and taking care of everybody around him like the badass that I know him to be.
My daddy is one of the most amazing people I know. There's a pizza named after him in my hometown and even though he's been living in America for the last 10 years people still order the Martin **** pizza all the time and tell tales of my badass dad.
