Hello to all Patrons!
As August is drawing to a close, it's high time for a presentation of September news in a slightly bigger scope than before. Because of the growing unrest, police forces are being called up to maintain order in the streets of Sleepless City. Please get your ID ready and keep the safe distance!
Moreover, for all those who support us we traditionally have a present in form of nice terrains. I hope they'll make a nice addition to building barricades in the streets :).

By the way: we have the version of printable sheets. We're waiting for your opinion if the files that were prepared this way meet your expectations. If yes, we'll prepare the rest including Yakuza guys.

Finally, a short story to introduce you into the climate of the special police force RAID44. Formed to eliminate cyber-psychos, it constitutes one of the best units the police forces have at their disposal.
-------------
- The yearly Regional Management meeting is in session at Nakamura Tower. The V.P. of the science department presides.
- As a defence contractor, after losing several major tenders and a number of key researchers to hostile takeovers by Nakamura, MicroMachines has decided to reciprocate with a style of its own, which would go down in history as the beginning of corporate wars. Having been informed by their spies of the Nakamura Tower meeting, MicroMachines agents hire a gang of crazed cyberpunks, who dub themselves “The Übermensch”. Distinguished by extensive cyborgisation, to their minds a path to becoming supermen, the gang is to storm Nakamura offices and kidnap said V.P. Having been offered so much moola, they don’t bother to question the consequences of the kidnapping, the victim’s fate, and finally, the escape plan. For the Übermensch to raise hell is an end in and of itself.
- MicroMachines agents clandestinely assist the gang. They are to enter the building along with the main group, but their objective is disparate.
- In the commotion that ensues, the agents are to pursue MicroMachines’ real plan, a true death blow to Nakamura. MicroMachines’ resentment and the thirst for revenge cannot be sated by a mere kidnapping. The agents are to conduct a virus attack, field test a new weapon: a combined nanovirus attack, which simultaneously invades electronic systems, databases, and Human Interfaces.
- The group make their way into the Tower without a hitch, catching the security unawares. One of the MicroMachines agents hacks into the AI using procured passwords, delaying the counterstrike, allowing the terrorists to reach the management offices on floor 77. The group cuts the meeting short and engages in a bloody shootout against V.P.’s bodyguards. Availing themselves of the chaos, MicroMachines agents attempt to seize control of the security centre located nearby.
However, they encounter an unexpected problem - the building’s AI gradually activates illegal security measures, “experimentally” installed on the floor. The AI’s resistance grows steadily fierce.
- The V.P.’s bodyguards prove rather competent at slowing down the assailants. Meanwhile, the RAID 44 brigade touches down on the floor 77 landing pad, responding to a distress call sent out by the AI.
- Just as the security manage to reach the police and look to evacuate the VIPs, desperate MicroMachines agents release the virus via a sub-workstation. It disseminates at a lower but more unpredictable rate. Its nanomachine component is introduced to the ventilation system at a randomly-picked spot. By severing the net and air conditioning on floor 77, Nakamura employees and HI users on most floors make it through, but any caught on the management floors are out of luck.
- The AI raises alarm across all networks and cuts off the floor.Soon after it realizes its own systems have been destabilized, and its personality coherence starts to diminish. The total AI collapse sets off a range of deadly protocols in sentry bots, making them open fire indiscriminately.
- To make matters worse, the MicroMachines co-virus is nasty piece of work. Any net activity or merely an open HI link leads to infection, causing growing nausea and disorientation, and ultimately loss of consciousness. In an era of common access to HI and permanent net link-up, the co-virus assails virtually everyone.
- As it turns out, the MicroMachines agents were oblivious to the true objective of their mission or the virus’s destructive potential. They had been told that the co-virus would cause a breakdown of the sentry systems, enabling them to hack into the Nakamura database, accessible only via terminals on floor 77. The database was to contain files on moles Nakamura had planted in MicroMachines.
- Within minutes, most employees’ HIs are infected. Those with implant HIs enter a state of torpor as the virus overloads their neural links. The fate of those with cyberbodies is... more complicated.
- The virus spreading throughout the Nakamura network has an unexpected side effect - the unstable AI takes control of infected cyberbodies and has them hunt down the intruders, side by side with sentry bots.
- Nakamura Tower is finally put under complete physical and EM quarantine. All exits are sealed, flights cancelled, out- and in-going communications jammed, connections severed.
- VIPs, security, police, MicroMachines agents and gang members realise they’ve been had. A race for the landing pad ensues, in hopes of finding a flight-capable unit. The way leads through a swarm of roving, murderous machines.
- Military, police and black market implants do resist the initial virus attack, but it’s only a matter of time before their defence systems give. Waiting idly by to be rescued is out of the question. They have to make their escape fast and find someone to purge the filth from the circuits lodged in their brains.
- The police as well as Nakamura, MicroMachines and Gang people, all make for the landing pad, contending with each other, hostile machines, and those who succumb to the virus.
- Once it becomes clear that closed blast doors blocking their way to the landing pad may be opened only through the security centre, an ad hoc alliance forms between former enemies.
- They manage to enter the security centre and lift the landing pad blast doors.
- A handful make it to the landing pad... only to find all the vehicles with physically fried circuits. Could’ve been the work of the AI, or perhaps the city authorities fearing contagion.
- On the private spot of one of the eccentric VIP’s of the Nakamura Corporation glistens a fancy, blood-red, vintage, no-electronics, sports AV speeder.
- And it’s operational.
- And fuelled up.
- There is just one problem...
