Game On: Discover the Exciting New Changes!

Hello, everyone!

A little while ago, we asked for your thoughts on potential changes to the hacking mechanics in your favorite skirmish game, Human Interface: Proxy War. The response was overwhelmingly positive, and the majority of you voted in favor of the proposed updates.

As you might have guessed, these won't be the only changes on the horizon. We're hard at work refining the game to make it more streamlined, accessible, and true to the spirit of cyberpunk. While the core system remains intact, these updates aim to enhance your experience without turning everything on its head. We'll simplify certain rules, expand others, and polish some key mechanics—most importantly, Cybershock, one of the game's defining cyberpunk features.

You can also expect exciting additions: more hacking programs, new program types, rules for vehicles, unified weapon range systems, and a variety of other improvements designed to enrich gameplay.

With these updates in progress, we’d like to present an exciting new development—we’re redesigning the game’s manual! Our goal is to create a layout that’s more user-friendly and practical, especially for self-printing. Instead of the previous two-column structure, we’re moving to a single main column paired with a smaller side column in the margins. This smaller column will summarize key rules from the main text for quick reference. The new manual will feature more images, game photographs, plus immersive stories from the world of Human Interface.

What do you think about the updated manual design and the upcoming changes? We’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments!

Stay tuned—more updates and rumors from Sleepless City are coming soon.

Cheers,

I wish the strike team rules were clearer about using characters from other gangs. The original book mentions that we can recruit characters from the MERCENARIES faction, but I don't remember any characters from that faction. What I do is for every 2 characters from faction X, I can recruit 1 character from faction Y.

This. Absolutely this.

Yes, also to save paint in the printer.

Also, how will this affect Human Interface board game ? are there any plans to update the system also for the board game ?

Sounds great! Only request is to have a video tutorial when the rules are finished. :)

some examples of doubts: - Can drones and machines equip any equipment? - Make it clearer that there is a limitation of 4 items in addition to the limitations by item type. Compiling the information into a single place: - Speaking of item types, some don't make much sense with the cards, as the cards don't have equipment of the Armor or Neurochip type. - Specifically describe what a Mercenary is in the cards, which can be used to complete any team. - Give some examples of ready-made teams for beginner players to have a starting point. - Some cards have abilities that grant bonuses to other team members but don’t specify when these bonuses end. It’s important to make this information clearer—presumably, the bonus lasts until the end of the round or until the beginning of the unit's next activation.

Although I like the current layout, I think this is very good too. I would ask you to put on it, various information of the doubts we had been having since the release and asked here on Discord.

The Print Friendly changes are absolutely amazing! Thank you

For home printing, would you also be able to do an "in game" edition with no thematic text, no images. Just rules text and diagrams? Keeping it as short and to the point as possible? While I love a good thematic rulebook and background, when you're at the table in the middle of a game all that other stuff gets in the way a bit.

The layout look good on the presented pictures.
