SKZ Code, J-Hope, Seventeen & SHINee - Livestream (2 Hours)

I’m coming to this so late you probably won’t see this comment. But the high you get at kpop concerts is a real thing. I’ve been to about a dozen concerts of many genres, many artists, and this past year saw three kpop concerts: Ateez, StrayKids and Seventeen. There is something about seeing a kpop group live, a feeling you get, that you don’t get at other concerts. I think a lot of it has to do with being in the US where there isn’t people who love kpop on every street corner, so sometimes it can feel isolating to be really passionate about it, particularly in KY where I live. The fans are extremely involved and passionate about kpop artists, the fandoms become like family. If you find someone who loves kpop at the store or anywhere in the wild, you instantly have a connection and something that bonds you because you get why we all love it so much. So when a huge group of us get together in a crowd at a concert with the light sticks and the music we love and dances we watch over and over going, it is this euphoric feeling of connection and excitement that you just don’t find at concerts of other genres. The choreo, the songs, the outfits and stages, dressing up and doing fan chants and just enjoying a few hours of such an intense happiness, it also makes the post-concert depression very real. Mention it to any kpop fan who has seen a concert and they get it. It’s hard going from such a high to having it gone suddenly.

i can't wait for you to explore the more recent skz code episodes like the jeju island ones. lee know is a favourite for me. he just creeps upon you slowly and the more you watch him, the more intriguing he is. hes a wild card for sure- easygoing, but blunt and honest with a ton of dark humor. in skz code jeju, you see how fond the guys are of lee know and the warmer side to him. people have noticed how much hyunjin enjoys being with him despite their branded 'tom and jerry' relationship. IN can be seen around LK a lot and really admiring his humor, LK is one of the few that doesn't baby IN too much (as per his request) and treats him like they're the same age, which IN really appreciates and feels comfortable with. LK is 100% a tsundere but the way the guys look up to him and seek out to spend time with him, shows he's not as icy as he tries to be. they appreciate his hidden ways of caring for others. all the members say he has a really soft heart and I think it shows quite a lot- his actions are in consideration to others, but he is self assured enough to not need validation back and that's what makes him special. the best description for him from skz was that his 'brave' appearance/actions doesn't stem from his strong mind, but his soft heart and effort to make things easier for other's and live a good stress free life.

Thank you so much for your reaction. I would love you to check out more of SHINee, while Everybody is a cool performance, is does not at all show off these guys vocals, and for me, the best thing about SHINee is their vocals. I am hardcore army, but SHINee were my first Kpop group, and they remain my favourite vocal group. You will see why if you check out the live performances for any of these songs. Vocal wise, my favourite performances are Selene 6.23, Sleepless Night, Like A Fire and Excuse Me Miss, Replay. Woof Woof, Girls Girls Girls, are both hilarious and a great mix of vocals and performance, and Dynamite, Sherlock, are also a great blend of performance and vocals.

Why are some livestreams a higher tier than other livestreams? just curious!

NCT does have a lot of members but it’s not really the same. Seventeen is more like a big group that sometimes breaks off into subunits, while NCT is more like subunits that sometimes come together to form a big group. Although NCT has been overlapping its subunits more in recent years, it’s not like a constant thing I guess. Like all 23 members of NCT won’t do an interview together like all 13 members of seventeen would. NCT would do interviews and variety stuff as subunits

Can you please react to hoshi on Youngji's show. I came for your seventeen reactions and from what you said about Hoshi communicating I think you would be interested to see more of him. Also, Youngji is very open and funny and just a pure entertainer. Maybe you can watch Youngji on Buzzfeed first, then get to them together. Seungkwan was also on Youngji's show and they are quite close, so perhaps you can watch that as well

Shinee is deff INTENSE, I’ve seen some critics saying they don’t like that they are so campy or that they can be a bit much, and I think those things are true but in a good way LOL there’s a reason they are legends in the kpop world. I think that’s the thing with shinee, some people may don’t love their music but Everyone agrees they are one of the greatest performers and artists. BTW taemin is considered one of the best dancers in kpop history

SHINee's live performances are KILLER. You should def check out more of them. You hit the nail right on the head about their performances. They have a LOT of theatrical stage presence which helps make their Lives so engaging (and also their variety show appearances). Fun fact: Key, Onew, and Taemin have all done stage plays and musicals. Key and Onew the most. Actually Onew just last month finished a second run in the musical "Midnight Sun". Also, Jonghyun, Taemin, and Key have degrees in Film and Musical Studies while Minho has his degree in Film Acting. I personally believe these things have contributed extensively to the incredible stage presence for all of the members. They have several songs that are very "Broadway," shall we say. "Woof Woof," "Girls Girls Girls," "Evil," and "Queen of New York" come to my mind first as having a supremely theatrical vibe. And the concerts with these have a lot of staging/choreo/costuming that make you feel like you're actually watching a musical. Very bombastic. The story for "Girls Girls Girls" is the older brothers in SHINee teaching their maknae Taemin about girls and how to woo them according to their own experiences. If you ever watch this Live performance, I recommend searching for the version with the English translation on the video so you can get the full effect of the performance and the hilariously adorable lyrics. "Orgel" is an experimental track whose concert performance feels very much like a stage play but in an eerie, gothic, and creeping way. If you're ever in the mood for a dark fantasy vibe, this is the track for you. There are def some songs from them that are enhanced or even made by the concert performance or even the MV. "Everybody" is one that I also don't really listen to much on my Spotify but I absolutely adore watching the live performances and the MV of it. What I like the most about their dancing especially is that while they can do the complicated or intricate dance choreo, they don't always try to if it doesn't match the song or vibe. They are more likely to tailor their choreo/performances to the themes of the song/concept and often try to tell a story with it. With the "Everybody" choreo (and the MV concept) they are portraying toy soldiers being awoken from their sleep and who are trying to draw out the joyful playful side within the audience who have been worn down by the demands of being an adult or of every day life. So you get a lot of both toy and soldier imagery/movements in the choreo and a track with a lot of high energy musicality as a way to try and get listeners to move and bounce. Another great track that would be fun to watch is "Married to the Music". One of my favorites from them. It has a retro funk sound which I love and a Halloween-y theme for the MV. I recommend the MV for this one first but if you are able to I also recommend watching the performance dance video as the full choreo for this is genuinely so fun.
