I think they mentioned that they were misdiagnosed with bipolar during their last documentary. But yes, I agree that Jimmy is very careful with them all the time

Hi Max, thanks so much for doing this. I'm a huge fan of Demi. To follow up on what Pauline said, Demi had an overdose in 2018. She had three strokes and a heart attack and went into a coma. When she woke up, she was legally blind. The overdose caused brain damage and to this day, she still has blurred vision, can't drive, and has problems reading. You know how terrible people can be online - people actually made fun of her for relapsing, they were so blaming and unsympathetic about drug addiction and mental illness. It was awful. We didn't hear from her until she came back with her song "Anyone" at the Grammys. It is one of the most heartfelt performances you will ever see. I recommend it - the way she puts herself into this particular performance, you'll hear and see how much pain she was in. Unfortunately, the Grammys got all the good quality videos taken down - the best, full-length video (with no weird cuts and zooms) has Spanish subs. Search "Demi Lovato Anyone Grammys Paz Aveleyra." I'm so thankful to this person for posting it! Demi wrote the song 4 days before her overdose. Thanks again for your video!

Ah I didn't know that. And that makes sense re: Jimmy.

Demi suffers from bipolar disorder and has a complicated history with drug abuse and overdoses and self harming and eating disorders (and probably more things I’m sure we don’t know about or at least I don’t know about). We know all this because she sings about it and has at least 2 documentaries abt it. I haven’t been keeping up with them so I don’t know the lastest news, but it could be why Jimmy was being *particularly* friendly. I find that he often acts this way with guests who don’t usually do talk shows or who are or have been in difficult situations. I guess it’s his way of showing compassion/empathy.
