Stray Kids' Bang Chan x Seungmin (Uncut: 50 Minutes)

i'd love it if you watched some leeknow and hyunjin things as well :D

I’d love if you watch Chan and Hyunjin’s Two Kids Room! I’m very curious about how you’d see their dynamics 👀 I have many opinions but I need to see analysis like the ones you usually do!

It seems as though the more fatherly Bang Chan feels towards a certain member, the more guards he has up. He seems to be very aware that his own pain can cause other people pain, and he would never want that to happen. I feel like Bang Chan is a very big picture type of guy. He's not just looking at the situation that he is in, and the situation that his group is in. The scope of his observation is much much wider than that. You can almost tell just by watching him that he's thinking about the situation of his company, the climate of the music industry at the time, the situation the world is in... He just seems to be hyper aware of an enormous amount of things, and I think that's why his guards are up. He has so many worries and he doesn't want his boys to feel the weight of all of those things. They couldn't have picked a more capable leader. And did anybody notice that while Chan doesn't seem to be as comfortable with physical affection with Seungmin, he reached over and put his little character right up next to Seungmin's and squished them together?

I personally love their dynamic and I love your analysis! if you want to see an interesting and funny dynamic you should definitely check Lee Know X Seungmin! also if you will check other performances of Stray Kids, I highly recommend their 2022 mama performance:D (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0QKhAdN-keY&ab_channel=MnetK-POP)

I was so surprised at their dynamic! Seungmin is quite the enigma, but your analysis helped me see how he subtly changed his approach to accommodate his hyung. I didn't pick up on how he was so sharp or considerate until you really broke it down. Seungmin/Lee Know will be another great less flirty pairing, lol. They joke about being a divorced couple, but it's interesting to see them communicate. They aren't super sweet to one another, but obviously have a sense of respect and comfort from being long time colleagues.

I love these 2 kids room episodes and your insights. Chan has always struck me as living values of service and almost altruism. When they started most of the team was very young, and you can see that sense of service coming through again and again. It's interesting to watch things now as the rest of the kids have got older and they are stepping up to share the load. I also thought it was interesting what you said about Seungmin speaking to the camera rather than Chan. The first time I watched the episode, I got the feeling that Seungmin felt he needed to tell Stay just how much Chan is responsible for - because Chan can be so humble, he won't communicate those challenges himself. What I found fascinating is that Chan didn't stop that from happening, so maybe he somehow also felt it needed to be said? He didn't make a joke or laugh it off. Good for him. From the outside looking in we can only speculate about how their experience is shaping them, but I love that they are willing to give us these insights into their dynamic. Thank you for watching this one. More please! :D

Also, if you're looking for more 2KR suggestions, I would love for you to watch the Lee Know x Seungmin episode. It's another one where I.N shared more of his own insights, which is always fun. Seungmin and Minho's nickname is "가관즈" (gagwanz), which means "messy pair" and comes from the Korean word "가관" which means "a sight". Stays also call them the divorced couple or remarried couple. Their dynamic is interesting to me and I'd love to hear your thoughts!

This was a fascinating episode. Thank you, once again, for your thoughtful analysis! I was really surprised to hear that comment from Seungmin about Chan's weight, but then I realized he was saying it jokingly as a reason to take his yogurt and eat them both. But, as you said, Chan kind of took it to heart and reflected on it. I totally agree with you about the disconnect between them, with Seungmin's humor and Chan's sensitive nature. It sometimes feels uncomfortable to witness those moments. I feel like Seungmin was trying to pay Chan a compliment about his arms and he somehow took that as a criticism. Kind of makes you want to shake some sense into him, doesn't it? It's disheartening to me to hear that Chan wants to be seen as a pillar and his idea of a pillar is someone who never shows their own emotional struggles and someone who bears their burden alone. I wonder how toxic masculinity plays into this as well. Chan seems to be fairly woke and open-minded about social issues but, like everyone else, he's not immune to the harmful ways in which we've been socialized. I also see those negative societal influences creep in whenever he talks about his weight :( A lot of idols speak negatively about their own weight and dieting, unfortunately. You may have noticed they said I.N wasn't eating dinner in their anecdote because he was trying to lose weight. I find that quite concerning. Anyway, I really hope Chan will continue to grow emotionally and learn to rely on his members more with time. I agree, it seems like Seungmin is good for him. By the way, I'm loving your new background! It's beautiful.

So happy with the video ♡ Is there any chance of you reacting to Lee Know and Hyunjin's 2 kids room?

I just thought of something that illustrates just how selfless and protective Chan is: they went on a world tour this year, which means they were at the airport often. It’s usually pretty bad when they’re at the airport in Korea, there are fans (the horrible kind) and press everywhere, and Felix and Jisung ended up tripping and getting hurt (on two separate occasions). Both times, Chan deleted his pfp on Bubble as a response, and didn’t message for a few days. That’s his way of telling us he’s mad. Anyways that’s not what I want to say: This one time, they once again got mobbed, it was pretty unsafe, and Chan stayed back and asked security to stay with the rest of the members who needed more help, leaving him totally unprotected. Granted, no one was near him, but I think no one was near him because all the bodyguards were with the rest of the members. I’m sure the fans that were there didn’t even realize he was Chan, because he was all alone walking behind everyone. Someone asked him about it in the comments during a live, and he said they didn’t leave him behind, but that he specifically asked security to stay with the kids because he was fine and they needed more help, since Felix had tripped and fallen the last time that had happened. So anyways, that’s just an example.
