BTS' The Rise of Bangtan: Chapter 11 (Livestream Recording: 2 Hours)

Comments

Jimin was the last member to join and only had about 6 months to train, while the others had 1-2.5 years. He also came from a non-singing dance background in a different style and had to adjust. The company were pretty hard on him (and the others too) because BTS were all they had. If they failed BigHit would lose all the money and time spent on them. So having someone like Jimin join so close to debut, was a risky move. Therefore, they sadly couldn't invest the same amount of money on him. He (unlike the others) didn't get any real vocal training during their trainee days. He would instead always sneak in and watch the others and take notes. And then practice on his own while the others were sleeping. I think, other than him being a true perfectionist and born performer, some of his insecurities also came from his well known lack of training time and coaching. Yet he was always expected to perform well. Because he was the most active member online at this early point, he also saw all the hate (and positivity too of cause) thrown at them. And because he got a lot of positive attention it might have added to the pressure to perform well. I am so proud of how far he's come. He's still a perfectionist, but now tends to use his flaws as motivation and learns from his mistakes instead of lingering on them. He's also far less active on social media after all the extreme hate and death threats he's gotten. So tuning all that noise out might also help a bit. This is one of the reasons why the Love Yourself Era meant so much to him (and the others). It truly helped people learn how to accept and love themselves.

Hehehe the thing about v rapping, he was actually skipping over a lot of lyrics and missing beats, that’s why they were laughing 😂

Great reaction, really enjoyed it. 2016 was a major turn for them with songs like Fire and Blood, Sweat & Tears, the Wings era. Then 2017 is when they broke out internationally to gradually get to where they are now, the BTS you know now. These years were really important as they were underdogs, after their struggles, the hate, and all the hard work from the first years, they finally started to get recognition. This is why they got a lot of emotional moments and overwhelming feelings around that time. Nothing came easy for them. Chapters 10, 11 and 12 are my favorite episodes, you're at the heart of their journey, their growth, the actual rise of Bangtan. Jimin's speech in that episode is actually a bit longer. He rarely opens up to his members publicly like that, he's usually very private and keep his feelings closer to his chest. You should watch their ending ment of this concert/tour at some point, they all got pretty emotional.

I do agree tae is content with who he is. Even when bts react to their old stuff, I don’t think I ever saw him cringing at his past self. He always has this fond look

Jimin definitely get teased the most in my opinion. Oh man! From the start of their debut until now he is like every member’s favorite person to tease. I’ll say jk and Jin tease him the most. Maybe I’ll find a video compilation on that and request during one of the livestream

You should watch old festas, Max. Their structure is kind of different too. The newer festas they go around and compliment each other but in the older festas they wrote bundle of papers about complaints about each other and discuss about it. It’s pretty funny. I think they changed that starting with 2018 festa

Perfect Man cover bts did was orginally by Shinhwa

Yoongi’s lyrics hit you so hard, man. It’s so raw and sometimes it’s so overwhelming

Jane Thomas

For me I think it was gradual. I can’t think of a single moment. I first got into kdrama then into K-pop but I’m not a person who usually follow artist individually or be interested in their life. I’m more of a “oh I like this group songs, I’m gonna add it to my playlist” I was like that with bts at first too. But somewhere along the way I got exposed to them as individuals and slowly started to watch their contents outside of music and I loved their friendship and dynamic with each other. That’s how I really fell in love with them and searched the meaning of their songs and found comfort.

Jane Thomas

You are right, we tend to focus on negative reviews more than positive reviews. Jimin was really active on social media earlier years, so if there is negative reviews he will probably exposed to that. But he also got a lot of positive reviews too but idk if he knows that. Some he do know. Like him going viral after perfect man performance, after 2014 mama performance, jimin trended worldwide, even this song fire, his part is considered as the killing part. After Fire came out, jimin got the nickname 333 guy because in the music video at 3:33 his part went viral

Jane Thomas

🤔 maybe, lets see 😉

I think they’re gonna win

Just like what Alice said, he had the shortest training period out of all members. He only had 6 months to train. That’s a really short period to learn their dance moves, to sing, to be in sync with other members and to even adapt to the new lifestyle. He talked about his struggles during his trainee days more in You Quiz. One of the main reason he has insecurity over his vocals is because he didn’t get any vocal training as a trainee. He said this before in the You quiz interview, he used to ask whether he can watch jungkook and tae take their vocal lessons and listen and practice by himself on what he heard. He still debuted as the lead vocalist so he naturally is talented. He definitely gained confidence over the years and know how to use his vocals. Like almost all the vocal coach reactions I watched on YouTube, they always say jimin is their bias since their first reaction. Our own Suga said multiple times that jimin’s vocals is his favorite and his taste and he always want to give a song he wrote to jimin.

Too sad I lost it. But the world cup in Brazil is contagious, difficult to ignore 😜
