One of the often overlooked facts of being wheelchair bound: you have to make a a solid and consistent effort to eat right and stay physically active or you’ll start gaining weight in a hurry. That and the ‘saddle sores’ from sitting down all the time. A good pad and shifting sitting position helps with that.
