2022-07-14 18:00:08 +0000 UTCIf I remember it right, the Institute was taken over by the synth Director after Nora left, since she mentions "Miss Nora" when monologuing to her captive human doppelganger. We don't have the exact details, but I presume that Nora eventually realized the Institute's methods were too reliant on synthkind and got pushback from the Directorate when she wanted them to start putting their genius to use improving the quality of life in the Commonwealth, i.e. non-synth science. So she jumped ship and left the Institute to continue digging their own hole.

2022-07-14 17:55:14 +0000 UTCIf you think about it for a minute, the Sole Survivor is one if not THE most dangerous Person in the whole Wasteland of the Commonwealth The Sole Survivor is a lonely soul without ANY real attachments to this radioactiv Parodie of his/her "Home" I mean, he/she is thrown into a World where nearly everything/one wants to kill you and the only measure of safety is the gun in your hands and where everyone and everything he/she knew is long dead and forgotten (friends , family, hell even the way of living was burnt in Atomic fire) Which means the only thing that may guide him/her is (hopefully) some sort of moral compass or something a lot more sinister....
