Robot Monster and Bride of Monster (Air Date: 11/17/90)

(Bridge 5:08, Outro 8:38)

Happy Thanksgiving Eve, Patreon Pals!!

I enjoy anything that’s even vaguely holiday themed, but I’m gonna have to disagree with JB (and MST3K 😉) about these being “turkeys”. To me, they are absolute classics. They’re "bad” movies that are more entertaining than most "good" movies. What they lacked in funds (and common sense), they made up for with imagination and pulpy thrills. I even went to see the musical version of Robot Monster, so that should tell you something! 😉

Enjoy, and I’ll be back tomorrow with another Thanksgiving treat (or 2).

Gobble gobble, motherfuckers! 😉🖤

love jb's rant!

I've said it before and I'll say it again: While not one of the greatest movies, Robot Monster is a heckuva lot smarter than it gets credit for being - the movie's explanation for the small cast is a prime example. And I won't spoil it, but the ending adds a surprisingly dark element that I greatly appreciate.

Joe Bob also did Soultaker and Deathstalker 3. “Zeppelin’s never wrong! Is Sabbath wrong too!?” "We'll see how long these accents last."

Joe Bob always knows what to say around the holidays 🤣

Have y’all all seen “Plan 9” a 2015 remake? It’s brilliant.

You’re good people, Peter. 🥰❤️❤️❤️

Haha I’m so with you there!!! 🥰

Awwwww. Thanks, Chris!!! ❤️❤️❤️ Ya!!

You're the best, Darcy. I just discovered a lost Eddie Wood TV pilot (on a competing streaming service) and I was in heaven listening to Dudley Manlove read a 20 minute long monologue! I've also always loved Robot Monster and all Ed Wood movies with genuine unironic affection.

You got a gorilla costume?... you got a bubble machine?... you've got a movie. I was reading an article about No Time to Die and I think the generally accepted budget is +200 million. I don't feel like doing the actual math, but that would make a bunch (60,000 or so) of Thankskilling(s's). I love James Bond, but I think I'd make that trade.

Joe Bob and MST3K are my favorites, well after Darcy, nothing comes even close
