Happy World Goth Day, Freaky F(r)iends! I wanted to find something a lil' on the goth-y side for tonight's offerings, and what I came up with was this Drac double Pack! If I had to choose, I'd say I'm more of a "Dead and Loving It" kinda ghoul, but watching this double feature with JB back then would've thrilled me to the bone.

I hope you have a bit o'frightful fun with this Splatterday Night lineup, my Mutants of the Night. Enjoy the vampy delights, and I'll see you tomorrow during daylight hours (*hiss*!!!!) for my first attempt at a cartoon watchalong!

Comments

Those 10-10-321 commercials Joe Bob mentions were especially all over TNT at the time, so they feel like a part of Monstervision!

I watched both of these movies recently with the Joe Bob commentary pauses. It was funny to watch a unedited film with Joe bobs comments on the edited film, through me off for a minute. Dead and Loving It....what can you say that hasn't been said already? Mel Brooks is a national treasure and Leslie Neilsen was perfectly cast for Dracula in fact that entire cast was spot on. What brings it all together though is the commentary. That is something that is really lacking in today's television. I love getting 10 weeks of the last drive in and svengoulie is great but being on OTA limits his content. I wish they would bring that format back on a permanent like it used to be.

does anyone else watch these films and pause for his commentary?

That whole thing about Woody Allen almost gave me a coronary lmao

This is awesome! I love both of these movies so much!

That bowling shirt is none more late '90s

My favourite line in Dracula: Dead and Loving it is where all his monstrous deeds are told to him and he replies "They had it coming". I can't stop using it in everyday conversation.

I. Love. This. Movie. So. Much. I'd already been planning a re-watch. Thanks for reading my mind, Darcy!

Still waiting for Heathers 2

Man, I really enjoyed Dead and Loving it. I’m stoked (uh no pun intended) to hear Joe Bob’s comments

More from the dark period... hmmm....

Watching this made me want to revisit Coppola's Dracula. Also - Joe Bob not liking Nosferatru... OMG!
