Freddy’s Dead and Opera (Air Date 2/20/93)

(Intro, Bridge at 6:33, Outro at 11:11...there’s a lil more dead air in between the bridge & outro than usual. Sorry about that! The wifi where I am is hella slow & if I go back in to edit it out I fear it won’t get reuploaded tonight. )

Ho-wdy, Ho-mies! Apologies for the late post but I’d been thinking it was Tuesday all day! 😋 Monday felt like a holiday (it really wasn’t for me, but it still had that vibe) plus the lack of AEW on Wednesday this week (😭😭😭) confused my wee lil’ brain. 😋

But fret not, for I’ve still got a bitchin’ double feature for you tonight. Can you imagine if we got to show these back to back on TLDI?? I would freak so hard from pure joy!! (Granted, Freddy’s Dead isn’t my fave but I’d be stoked to get to show anything NoES related!) And Opera is possibly my favorite giallo! (I can’t decide between that or Torso but I’m gonna watch the latter again soon so I’ll give you my final verdict then. 🥰)

Enjoy, and I’ll see you back here on Friday before the show. This week is quite the doozy and I feel it’s my duty to help prepare you for the pain we are about to inflict... 😉❤️❤️

Just watched Opera. That was a great movie. Those taped pins were CRINGE

This was a great double feature. Dario Argento is just a master film maker.

Revisiting Freddy's Dead this evening. It would be interesting to get a copy of the book he was talking about in the intro.

This is the first one of these i have watched. the WORK that Darcy puts into these annals (wink) of horror history is exemplary. oh, and hunky Joe Bob yelling will never not be entertaining. THE DRIVE-IN WILL NEVER DIE!!

Lot of CW and DC shows as I've noticed. Produced Cry Baby which I watched a lot on Joe Bob's former employer of Showtime as a kid. "You made me the happiest juvenile delinquent in Baltimore!"

& an episode of SHERLOCK?!?!?!?

From the director of Tank Girl. Enough said.

I agree Darcy, Freddy’s Dead was not my favorite but it’s nice to see Joe Bob show it. Please show some Joe Bob and wrestling fu.

I've always said the scariest part of Freddy's Dead are the scenes with human Freddy. Though it also has the worst part where we find out it was demonic tadpoles that turned him into a dream demon.

Oh cool, luv how this entry coincidentally ties into JB’s recent podcast appearance w him talking about Carol Clovers book in both thangs. Nice!

I have had that book in my kindle library for a while....a few years actually. Damn good excuse to finally read the whole thing! Thanks for reminding me Darcy!! And as always, You Rawk!!

Eggbert and Siskal 😂

This was fun. Thanks Darcy
