There's a short video on YouTube where Lean talks about the critical reaction to Ryan's Daughter and this meeting at The Algonquin.

Mike Tocci

Excellent analysis of Omar Sharif’s reveal and what it tells the viewer about the film’s environment.

🥰❤️❤️❤️

On the next ask him what his favorite non horror movie is

This video post is 4 minutes and 20 seconds long. You did that on purpose, didn't you? Haha. Jokes aside, I know with Shudder, it's pretty much a given that horror films are going to be covered on the Last Drive-In. Is there a way you could ever do shared screenings that are other genres? I really enjoyed the "Thankskilling" event, but I'd like to see some other types of films hosted somehow, even with an alternate format.

Damn, Joe Bob. That was incredible. So glad I did this patreon thing.

Great video and great answer

Always learning fun and interesting stuff from Joe Bob! Great choice too

These insights are enriching and if there is no autobiography planned, these videos might be the only way to peer into the larger passions of JB himself.

Wonderful choice!

according to the back of the Patron Saint blu ray (which features Smokey & The Bandit 2) the second one is near and dear to JB’s heart

Love Brief Encounter. And I actually saw Lawrence of Arabia in 70mm once 😎 but damn would I love the chance to catch it (or really any film for that matter) in Cinerama. I also have the blu of A Passage To India and really dug it when I watched it a few years ago. I had heard the critic evisceration story before about LOA but it was cool to hear JB spin that yarn. And I couldn’t help but think that it parallel’s some of the unfair “criticism” JB has received over the past year. I don’t want to presume that JB’s response to the #AskJoeBob question was calculated, but like any great artist, they always find a way to brilliantly discuss things through the filter of other things 😉

I would like to know has there EVER BEEN A MOVIE that Joe Bob wanted to review and the network flat out said NO!..... or vice versa, has a network told him you are doing this movie and JB says NO WAY!..?????

Okay here goes nothing. #AskJoeBob You've frequently praised Smokey and the Bandit at your How Rednecks Saved Hollywood show as one of the best if not the best movies ever. What are your thoughts on the sequels? Especially the changed plan of the third one where Smokey IS the Bandit. Would you have like to see what could have been? Thanks in advance JB.
