Zacherle(y) Visits Drive-In Theater

iI don’t have an exact date on this (yet!), but it’s so amazing I had to share right away! Until I found this, I’d only ever seen Zacherle’s visit during Horror Host Month. (Still looking for that, btw…I’ll definitely post it once I find it!) Zacherle is sincerely one of JB’s heroes, and i know  this was truly a special moment for him. ❤️

****UPDATE: Big thanks to our f(r)iend Ben who was able to figure this out this episode aired Feb. 13, 1987 as part of a triple feature. NOES, Invisible Strangler & Silent Madness were the flicks.

Thanks so much, Ben! ❤️❤️❤️******

Enjoy this bit o’ Drive-In history, and I’ll be back with something fun tomw to help you tear the heart outta Splatterday Night! 🤠

Side Note: Usually when he was in Horror Host mode John Zacherle had a “y” at the end of his name, but since they wrote it on screen with just an “e” for this segment,  I’m crediting him that way here.

I grew up in NYC watching Zach and listening to him on WNEW FM where he was a rock DJ! Joe Bob's eulogy for him on The Last Drive-In literally choked me up. Thank you for uploading this classic moment!

That’s why I support this Darcy. This kind of content should be preserved and cherished. To think that was just sitting somewhere on a film reel. Makes me shudder… I hope it’s not the last… Footage with Joe Bob Briggs and Zacherley. It’s drive in me crazy thinking about classic films sitting in a vault. It should be on display. At the last drive in… PUNS… I’ll shut up now lol.

This is my first real look at Zacherley. It's fun! It's very cool that JB stepped back and let Zacherley do his thing. Mad respect!

That Country Cuzzins poster looks cool!

Invisible Strangler aka The Astral Factor sounds gnarly. 3 different directors “credited” yet they all went uncredited!

I searched on newspapers.com. Speaking of F13, I would love an archive of the IV and VI double feature on November 1987. Some of the triple feature fridays from Weekend Multiplex would be nice as well.

I was looking a few places doing deep dives for this info, and I found this photo. I've served society and our country for 15 years, but you, madame, are a damn American hero for wearing this and looking like this. Keeping the nerd squared crowd alive and with high blood pressure. https://qcnerve.com/drive-in-critic-joe-bob-briggs-scores-with-c3-lab-crowd/

This was awesome!!!👍😃👏

Now that I got my hiney on Patreon finally, I’ll be able to help out indexing the vids.

Hi D — Judging from the great binder, this episode aired Feb. 13, 1987 as part of a triple feature. NOES, Invisible Strangler & Silent Madness were the flicks.

Everything about this Patreon is so rad. Thank you, Darcy!!
