If I had to guess I would say the chef didn´t feel good enough for the actor, he broke up on the actors birthday and the actor gave him a car to his birthday - it also seems that the family of the ex is also wealthy and he had bad experience from that relationship - they said it wasn´t a good breakup. I guess she is the reason why the chef acts now like this. I am really courios what his motives really are. They do such a good job do put the audience in the actors shoes.
