Joe Bob’s Thought of the Day: Wedding Edition

After watching the trailer for "Shotgun Wedding" starring Jennifer Lopez, which premieres next week, I would rather watch the 1963 "Shotgun Wedding" written by Ed Wood.

You’re right, I forgot about The Cell -saw it on opening weekend and enjoyed it.

I mean, the Ed Wood one has J Pat O'Malley. Instant win! (Who could resist the guy who taught Dick Van Dyke his accent?)

Moviegique

You might regard "The Cell" as unwatchable, but I don't think you could call it "pablum".

Moviegique

Never had anything against her, but some actors have a knack for always choosing projects I have no interest in. Richard Gere, Julia Roberts, Ryan O’ Neal, Will Smith, and Jennifer Aniston also fit in that category for me.

I thought about it some more and while this movie isn't my bowl of Wheat Chex I'm not going to dog anyone for liking it. People get to love what they love. No one should be shamed over the style of movie they like - unless they try to shame others. Those folks are fair game for sarcastic assaults. Romcoms have a formula that they basically stick to, each with its own variation. Horror movies do the same thing, except in horror evil may win in the end. The romantic couple may not get together because one of them is dead, or worse. But anyway, the Romcom people get to be who they are. No judgement.

Child Bride was the one movie MST3K would not air. Hilarious how Kevin Murphy begs to not find out and Mike Nelson just says the name. Cinema Snob review: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OFOa0y5W8Rw

Out of Sight is the only movie I can tolerate her in. Then again, this was before she turned into a pretentious diva with her music career. Always preferred Salma Hayek over her.

mmeeee Too!

Aside from U Turn, Anaconda, Out of Sight, and maybe Blood and Wine, is there a JLo flick that isn’t unwatchable pablum? Flaming Hillbilly Color was a photochemical process that involved adding moonshine and chewing tobacco juice into the film processing to get that “down home” look.

“Flaming Hillbilly Color” - Technicolor’s Appalachian cousin.

Mr Trick

Always preferred Garner. Never liked that diva

Ed Wood Night on The Last Drive-In confirmed.

I need more of my daily life in FLAMING HILLBILLY COLOR!!!
