Back to the Future & Maximum Overdrive (Air Date: 6/19/99)

Happy Splatterday Night, Patreon Pals! Tonight is “80s Night” on Monstervisio…but there’s not much different aside from the nifty lil intro and Rusty’s outfit. 😋

Once again he’s talking about Howling 7 in one of the mail segments, which means:

1. I’m obligated to post this pic of when I finally got him to take his dream venture to Pioneertown.

2. We absolutely HAVE to show it on The Last Drive-In. I don’t care how(ling) terrible it is, it was such a thing for him back then that it’s time to make a whole new audience suffer!!

Enjoy these awesomely 80s classics, and thanks again to everyone who stayed up late for our first ever Animation Night on The Last Drive-In last night. Hope y’all had fun because we’d love to do it again sometime! 🖤

Here are the time codes for ya:

Back to the Future

Start the ...

First segment: Before the flick.

Second segment: About 18:02 in after Marty hangs up the phone.

Third segment: About 35:00 in after the shot of the Walkman and camera on the passenger seat.

Fourth segment: About 42:24 in after the shot of Marty knocked out on the road.

Fifth segment: About 58:45 in after Doc says "And make sure he takes her to that dance!"

Sixth segment: About 1:08:03 in after Laraine says "I don't know, but I'm going to find out."

Seventh segment: About 1:24:07 after Doc says "The storm."

Eighth segment: About 1:31:04 in after "Marty, such a nice name."

Maximum Overdrive

I like watching the old MonsterVision. It's funny to see how much Joe Bob has mellowed since then.

*Heads up* Vimeo has shut down it's TV apps as of June 27, 2023. Including Apple TV, Android TV, Amazon Fire TV, Fire TV Stick, and Roku

That bumper screams "We stole this from VH1!" Ted Turner had it out for Redstone for firing Joe Bob.

We need to bring back the awesome 80’s bumper

I don't know why, but I remember the Maximum Overdrive episode so vividly!!

Funny how it was on Drive In and your The Movie Channel. Those VCR Overnight adds would always say for you to put your video in maximum overdrive back in the late 80s and early 90s. My dad loved the movie back then. First saw it in the late 00s on that channel.

😞 I’m sorry, Patrick, but I’m glad this makes you think of him. 🖤

Yeeeeesssss, I have been waiting for this one. My dad introduced us to Joe Bob and this was one of our all time favorites Maximum Overdrive. Even when we lose the people we love things like this remind us there are still with us. Thank you Darcy.

Thank you.

Hahaha

Yep! That’s the one!

After Nekromantic and Mad God, I think a movie that's a werewolf musical sounds appropriate.

Are you talking about Pioneer Town near Yucca Valley(where Frankie Kazarian is from btw)? It was built for all the westerns back in the 30's 40's and still stands, people live in the buildings now. McCartney did a show there a few years ago! My Dad desperately wanted to see it back in the day when I was stationed at 29 Palms.

The howling 7 is a trip. I love Maximium Overdrive but I might have wore out the CD and Casette of Who made who 🤣😎❤️😘

Nice! Howling VII would be quite the episode. I would love to see people's first time reaction to the singing and line dancing (and JBB reenacting)

I had the misfortune of viewing it before Joe Bob showed it on Monstervision. I wonder if that’s the only movie he’s ever given a half star to or if there’s another film that he finds just as bad or worse 🤔
