Q and A?

Heath and I were thinking of including a patron-only Q&A on this week's show in commemoration of our 150th episode and our 3 year anniversary.  If you have any general questions about the show, or about us, or about anything else you think other Patrons might be interested in hearing about, please let us know.

You can leave your questions as responses on this post, or you can email them to me at noahlugeons@yahoo.com and it'll be the last thing we record tomorrow, so I can keep taking submissions until midnight eastern or so.

Thanks in advance, and happy New Year.

Heath had a great line recently, something along the lines of "Our Lady of Perpetual Refunds".. How about a Patron Saint of the Week/Month? Maybe it's too easy of a target, but even devout Catholics that I've known have found their roster of Saints amusing.

Interested in hearing their answers to this one. I'm sure it'll be both more entertaining and educational than mine, but here goes: Yes! We're at least as nuts as you believe, and probably much moreso. Massive sodas and free refills, below-minimum-wage-earning servers to keep 'em filled for you in hopes of tips that'll make or break their budget for the month! Diabetes, heart disease, and all the attendant co-morbid issues associated with obesity and our crap diets! Individuals from all extremes of ideological spectrums, and we've probably invented a few today that people are already taking sides on. As for all of the other things, well, it's a very large and diverse landmass. Firearms are abundant in the South/MidWest, but quite rare and a hassle to get for the average citizen in big cities or the West Coast. Each state can be almost like a nation unto itself in many things. Religion, misogyny, and many of these other regressive stances that some claim with pride and will proudly make the hill they die on are very rare or at least well-hidden in the Northeast, where they may be much more publicly acceptable in the Southeast or Arizona. As for whether anything can be done about it, I'm an optimist. Our executive branch will likely permanently be a lesser of two evils situation, due to the entrenched powers having no interest in anything other than First Past the Pole for elections of the POTUS. The House and Senate can change somewhat swiftly, as we've seen significant changes in character in both over the last eight years, and some big divisions happening in our far-Right which used to be very good at enforcing bloc voting and lockstep. We keep progressing socially and very rarely have any significant backslides, but generally about five to fifteen years behind nations in a similar stage of development. Technology is making a big impact on awareness among our younger generations, however we don't have mandatory voting like you do and getting young people to the polls just never seems to happen for us; the elderly turn out to vote in significantly higher numbers pretty reliably. Which leads to the common meme of 'US advances one funeral at a time'. Hope that's somewhat helpful. Cheers and happy New Year!

You talk about fantasy football a lot, I am Australian and I am yet to hear you mention Jarryd Hayne. Why is that?

You guys are younger and way smarter than I am. How'd you get this way? What are your educational backgrounds?

I have one question as an Australian who has only seen america through Hawaii. Is it as nuts as it seems. Massive sodas and diabetes, guns and mass shootings, misogyny and religion. I often hear Americans say nothing can be done. Is this crazy too ingrained in your society to counter or is it an intellectual laziness and / or a reluctance to part with ones privileged existence?

There are some (albeit rare) religions/cultures that place women above men. Have there ever been any stories that have ever made you consider a "This Week in Misandry" segment? I know the odds are absurdly against it, but as they say, "even a blind squirrel" and all...

Asuka Langley Sohryu

Um... I would ask "jelly or syrup", but as I have learnt from you guys, you never go ass to mouth. So I got nothing.

Which holidays that each of you guys celebrated the most, all the best to all 4 of you, happy holidays and Happy New Year.

Noah has revealed his real name on air -- any chance of telling us Lucinda and Heath's alter egos?

Canadian Puppeteers

As an addition to the "how we met" stories, I'd like to know how you guys met Eli. Also, you guys (Heath and Noah) have referenced your past experiences with hallucinogens, and I think it would be interesting to hear any stand-out experiences you might've had. Finally, how long is Noah's hair? I've seen it is rather long on the YouTube channel but I don't believe we've had an official measurement.

Speaking of show #150... are there any plans for Diatribes volumes two and three?
