With a wingspan of up to 3 meters, this flying reptile is best known for its distinctive appearance: a long, upturned beak with toothless tips and robust, flat teeth at the back of the jaws—perfect for crushing the shells of mollusks and crustaceans. Its skull also featured a bony crest, likely used for display or species recognition.
Dsungaripterus likely lived in coastal or inland environments, walking confidently on all fours while searching for food along shorelines. Its powerful jaws and specialized teeth make it a fascinating example of evolutionary adaptation in the pterosaur lineage.
