Scott put the phone down, and we looked at each other. I simply said you go first.
“Danielle, I hate what she did to you, and part of me doesn’t want anything to do with her, ever again. But another part of me wants to hear her out and make a decision on if she is truly remorseful for what she did to you. And if we both agree, we will accept her apology and move ahead in life.”
“Well, Scott, when my stepmother adopted me, I had no living relatives left in the world. I was all by myself with no family to back me up. You have a family, your parents and your sister. That’s something I don’t have. I would think before you write off your parents, we should give them a chance to accept me for who I am and apologize for what they did. Yes, I am upset with her, but the fact is, you are still with me, and what she wanted to do to me would have cost her company a lot of money, and it could have put her in jail too. So, I vote to listen to what she has to say and give her a second chance if we think she deserves it. Now, if you want to retreat and discuss this after your mother speaks, let me know at dinner. But if you accept what she says, give me a thumbs-up, and if I feel the same way, I will give you a thumbs up.”
“It sounds like we have a plan.”
Scott dialed up Betty and told her we will come to listen to what mom has to say. Betty told him to come by the house at 6 pm.
We watched some TV and cuddled for the afternoon. I just loved snuggling up to Scott; he was always so warm. That’s another thing I noticed as a woman; we are always chilly. I am not sure why; one day, I will have to research this, but as a boy, I never felt cold. As a woman, I always seemed to be wearing a sweater or under a blanket (and this is where Scott comes in) or snuggling up against a nice warm man.
When 4 pm came up, I went back down to my condo to get ready for dinner. I took a shower and did my hair and makeup. I went all out and did the best work on my face to date, as Pam had given me a lot of makeup tips at the studio, and I was getting better and better at this. I picked out a sharp royal blue evening dress and put on black lingerie and stockings to go with it. I didn’t have a pair of blue shoes, so I used my black 4-inch heels. I used a set of pearl earrings, necklace, and bracelet that mom gave me as a going-away gift. They were beautiful, and I am sure they were expensive since Ms. LaRue never bought anything that wasn’t first class. My engagement ring sparkled as well. And this would be the first time that Scott’s parents would see it.
I went back upstairs to Scott’s place and let myself in. He was still in the shower and came out wrapped in a towel to kiss me. He said, wow, you look great! And I could tell from the towel that he enjoyed what he was seeing. He went back into his room and dressed up in a very nice 3-piece suit that was dark blue with a blue and white striped tie. He put on a pair of black shoes and his watch and cufflinks and announced he was also ready.
We left the condo and took the elevator down to the parking garage, got into his car, and were off to his parents’ home.
We pulled up to the gate, and Scott pressed his remote.
“I forgot I had that; I will have to ask if they want it back.”
We drove up to the mansion, walked up to the front door, and rang the bell. Andrew opened the door for us and let us inside. He took our coats, put them in the closet, and led us to the living room where Betty and Frank and his parents were sitting. We walked in, and there was a brief awkward silence. Mr. Jonsson said, please, have a seat and Scott, and I sat beside each other on a loveseat.
He asked us how we were doing, and we replied that we were fine. I looked over at Mrs. Jonsson, and she looked distraught. I thought she was about to faint, but she steeled herself and stood up in front of us.
“I asked you both to come here tonight so that I could apologize to you for my actions.”
“Danielle, I am very sorry for what I did to you. Betty told me that outing a trans person is one of the worst things you can do to them, and I apologize for that. I also want to apologize for talking to Cindy Rome regarding your employment. I found out that not only was what I tried to do was illegal, but had I insisted, I could have been charged with a human rights violation and would have made myself open to lawsuits. It was very short-sighted and stupid of me to do so, and I hope you accept my apology for that as well. I want to also say that it was a misguided attempt to protect my son, and all I did was drive a wedge between him and myself. I don’t hold you any malice, Danielle, and I accept you at face value as a beautiful young woman who has made something of herself and knows the value of hard work and responsibility. I know at this point you probably don’t trust me or even like me, but I hope I can one day change your mind about me, and maybe we can become friends. Since it looks like you are going to become my daughter-in-law.”
“To my son Scott, a mother only wants to protect her children, and I thought I was looking out for your welfare. I now realize that you are an adult, and you don’t need me to meddle in your affairs in a misguided attempt to protect you. For this, I am sorry and apologize to you as well.”
“That’s all I have to say; I hope you can accept my apologies to you both.”
I could hear the clock on the mantle ticking. I took Scott’s hand and held it. We looked at each other, and both got up at the same time, and we both embraced Mrs. Jonsson, and she and I were both crying. I spoke to Mrs. Jonsson and told her that I would do my best to forgive her, and I accepted her apology.
We all sat down, and then Andrew came in with a tray with champagne-filled flutes and announced, “I took the liberty of filling these for you all.”
We all took one. Mr. Jonsson raised his glass and spoke. Here is to our family. We are nowhere near perfect, but we admit our mistakes when we are wrong. We all toasted to each other.
Dinner was somewhat subdued at first, but once we got through a few bottles of wine, everyone seemed to open up, and the dark cloud just seemed to evaporate. Betty looked at Scott and me toasted, here is to our engagements. I said to Betty, it’s just a thought, but it seems you and Scott have done everything together for most of your life, starting when you were both born. Have you thought that maybe we could do a double wedding?
Scott and Betty looked at me and started to smile. Then they both broke out laughing and said that’s a great idea since neither of us has a set wedding date. Why not have one big happy wedding?”
I looked and smiled at Frank.
He was laughing too and said, “Why not? I think it’s a great idea as well.”
Mrs. Jonsson was laughing as well, and I could see her wheels turning as she was already planning it. Rather than have two smaller weddings, we can plan one big one and create a huge event for everyone. We can take over the country club since most of the people there would be invited anyways. And of course, we will use St. John’s Lutheran Church for the weddings. I wondered out loud if they would have any problem with my being transgender. Mrs. Jonsson replied. I had thought about that myself and asked the pastor yesterday. He told me in our church, all people are God’s children. You will not have any issues there, my dear.
When the meal was served, it was delicious. We all enjoyed the roast chicken dinners that were served. Dessert was an apple trifle with ice cream, and we had coffee as well. As the evening wound down, we said our goodbyes, and Betty told me we have a lot of planning to do. She was hoping for a June wedding, and I thought that sounded great as well. We said our goodbyes, and Scott and I left for home. As we were driving home, Scott thought that the evening went rather well. I agreed. Scott’s mother was very eloquent in her apology to us, and I could see she loves her children; and when I gave her the idea for a double wedding, I could see she was getting very excited at the thought. Scott told me, you will find that my mother plans everything to the nth degree; she lives for events like this. If you would like something a certain way, let her know as soon as you can, but I know from the past she will just love planning this down to the smallest detail.
“You don’t seem to mind not having your wedding where you are the only bride,” noted Scott.
“Quite truthfully, I never really considered that I would ever be married in a church, and I don’t mind sharing the aisle with your sister. We can walk down the aisle side by side and give each other moral support. I think it is a great way to show how we are a family, and I think I will be closer to your sister and Frank because of the wedding. If all goes well, it will give us something to talk about for years to come. And since it’s a double wedding with one of Sacramento’s leading families, I am sure it will be the event of the year.”
Dear Diary:
As I wrote in here previously, Scott and I and his sister Betty and Frank were going to be married in an event wedding in the largest Lutheran Church in Sacramento. And we were going to do it on the 3rd Saturday in June. Mrs. Jonsson started planning it the moment I gave her the idea, and things just kind of snowballed from there. I was so busy at work that I didn’t mind letting her do all the planning. I only wanted to invite a few girlfriends and their companions from High School, Ms. LaRue, and Ms. Verdot, Madge, and June, and my new friends in Atlanta, Jennifer, Christy, Connie, and Virginia, and of course Stephanie. I gave Mrs. Jonsson my list of guests and their mailing addresses, and she told me there was no problem. She looked at the list and recognized Virginia Castle. Do you know Virginia? I replied yes.
Mrs. Jonsson told me that she was going to invite her as well. “Virginia is one of my oldest friends from back when we were both in college together.”
Once again, it’s a small world. Anyways, I will cover the wedding in greater detail later. Now back to my story.
It was Wednesday morning, chilly since it was early March, and Scott drove me out to the airport so I could fly to Spokane for the grand opening of a new Amelia’s Boutique. We kissed goodbye, and I got in line to check-in for the flight. I eventually boarded the plane and sat up front in Business class. I was recognized several times in the airport, even though I was wearing my sunglasses. I noticed it was mostly women and teenage girls who would stop me and ask me if I was Amelia’s girl.
On the flight, a couple of girls walked over to me and asked me. I said yes, and I was going to Spokane to open a new Amelia’s store. I told them to get their mothers to bring them down to the new store; I would be there until closing on Saturday. They were so happy to meet me. The odd man would say hi to me as well, but not because I was Amelia’s girl, they just thought I was cute, I guess.
The flight touched down in Spokane, and I disembarked and made my way to the luggage area to pick up my bags. There was a limo driver there holding a sign with my name on it. I walked over and said hello to him; I’m Danielle. He said hi, and Amelia’s Boutique had sent him over to pick me up. He drove me over to the hotel, which was just down the street from the new store, and asked me if I needed a ride to the store; I shook my head and said I would prefer to walk the two blocks to the store and get a little exercise. He tipped his cap and told me to have a good day. After I checked into the hotel and dropped off my bags, I walked down to the store. It was still early spring, but I was wearing a warm coat, and it only took me a couple of minutes to walk there.
I opened the door and walked inside. It was really busy, and then someone noticed me standing there. Suddenly there were people all around me asking me questions. I smiled and told everyone I had just arrived, and I am sure they will set things up, and I could sign autographs as Danielle, Amelia’s girl. The manager of the store saw me and waved me over. I excused myself and walked over to say hi to her.
Her name was Holly Davis. It’s nice to meet you, Danielle. I have to say, the new television commercials have created a buzz, our business has been really good since we opened the store. We have set up a table for you over here, and you can chat with the people, and we have pre-signed photos of you with your autograph. You can hand them out as is, or add a note to the top if you like. This was done to help things move a little faster.
I got to work right away, and a lineup soon formed to my table. Everyone was so nice to me, and I received compliment after compliment. It was enough to swell a girl’s head. Many people asked me to personalize my photo for them, which I gladly did. I would take a break and walk around the store every hour or so and just chat with people. My old sales girl instincts came back, and I gave many girls recommendations on which dresses I thought would suit them better. It was a lot of fun being a celebrity, and I thoroughly enjoyed myself. Closing soon came, and Holly told me she would drive me over to the hotel. I told her I could just walk up to the hotel. No, she said, it's dark outside, and I am not about to let you walk alone back to the hotel. I wasn’t about to argue so I went with her to her car and we drove up to the hotel. She parked her car and asked me if I wouldn’t mind having a drink with her to wind down after the day.
I had to tell her that I am under 21, so I can’t legally drink; she said not to worry, I will buy a drink for you, what would you like. Just a white wine, thanks. We went into the hotel lounge, and she ordered a couple of glasses of wine for us without any issue. I have found most bartenders and waiters are usually too busy checking my boobs to worry about checking my ID. Being a pretty girl does have its advantages. Holly and I talked for a while. She was quite interesting and had all sorts of questions for me about modeling and fashions, and I was able to answer most of them. When I was young, I wanted to become a model, but I found my talents lay elsewhere. I told her the glamour part of being a model was what she saw me do today. The rest of it is a lot of hard work, constantly changing, and getting ready for a shot. And it is very repetitive work. But, overall, I am enjoying myself.
We shot those TV commercials in under a week, but we worked 16-hour days to get it done that quickly. I was bushed at the end of each day. It was very tiring to do that. Holly said I can only imagine. We were working 12-hour days leading up to the store opening, but we were able to pull it off as well. The new store is a huge success. Holly and I went into the hotel restaurant, and she bought me dinner, and we shared a bottle of wine. After the meal, she thanked me for my company and told me the driver would be in front of the Hotel at 8 am tomorrow. I wished her a good night and went up to my room.
I called Scott on my phone. We talked for a couple of hours, and he was telling me how Betty and his mom kept calling him about the wedding, and he passed the information on to me. This wedding will be a major event. My mother seems to be in heaven right now; she is enjoying it so much. You have no idea how happy you have made her, Danielle.
Well, I am glad she wants to do it. I don’t know how well I would be able to plan all the details like she is doing, and I am so busy now, I am just glad she is taking care of it. Scott passed on to me that Betty has plans for us to visit a bridal shop next week, and we can look at wedding dresses.
The rest of the week went quickly in Spokane, and like everywhere else I go, I keep making new friends. Holly was a gem and wanted to stay in touch with me, so I gave her my phone number and email address. I flew back to Sacramento on Saturday night, and Scott was waiting for me at the airport. We picked up my bag at the carousel and walked out to his car. He loaded it up with my bag, and we got in.
“Let’s go out for dinner,” said Scott, “I know a little place you will enjoy.”
We went into this little bistro, and I had another wonderful meal. As a model, I have to watch my weight, but the spring mix salad was really good, and I had a sautéed chicken breast for an entrée. We drove home, and I went to my condo to take a shower.
Scott was waiting for me as I left the bathroom, and he took me right there on the spot. As he ravaged my body, he told me he had been waiting for this moment all week. We eventually made it over to my bed, where we made love for the next couple of hours. I was just glowing afterward, and Scott looked like he had run a marathon. I told him to go take a shower; he would feel better. He returned to bed, and we kissed and embraced for a while, then we both drifted off to sleep.
Sunday morning, I woke up first and let Scott sleep, and I went to the kitchen to make coffee. I also scrambled some eggs and cooked a couple of pieces of bacon and toast for myself. I was reading the news on my laptop when Scott entered the kitchen and kissed me good morning on my cheek. I asked what he would like for breakfast and to help himself with the coffee.
I made him fried eggs over easy, bacon, hashbrowns, and a couple of pieces of toast. We have peanut butter or jam in the fridge; take whatever you like for the toast. Here is ketchup and tabasco sauce for your eggs, and the salt and pepper are on the table. Scott kissed me for making him breakfast and sat down to eat while I watched him.
After Scott finished eating, he asked me what I would like to do today. That is after I take you back to the bedroom. I smiled and said, I can’t think of anything off-hand now; you have my mind on one thing right at the moment. He chased me to my bedroom, and we celebrated our engagement again. Scott was getting so good with me that if I didn’t have at least 5 or 6 orgasms during sex, I would think something was wrong. It’s times like this; I love being a woman.
Afterward, I called up Betty and asked her how things were coming along regarding the wedding. I’m glad you called me; Mom wants us to go over and pick out all kinds of things, invitation styles, floral arrangements, photographers. (One is not enough), our wedding party seating arrangements, the guest seating. Which entrée we would like, appetizers, desserts, wedding cake, and a whole bunch more, which I have forgotten.
“I can come by with Scott, and he and Frank can chill with each other while we do the girl wedding stuff.”
“I can make lunch for all of us, and then we can go over to Mom's to look at all this stuff.”
“How does 11:30 am sound?”
“Great, we will see you at 11:30 am.”
I hung up the phone and looked at Scott; he smiled and said that all sounds fine; he and Frank would probably be watching football together.
We got ready and jumped in the car, and drove over to Betty’s place. Frank was there, and he answered the door. Come in, he said. Betty is in the kitchen. I gave Frank a big hug and left Scott with him, and entered the kitchen. Betty was putting the finishing touches on the lunch she made for us. We quickly kissed and greeted each other. She had salad, soup, and some sandwiches on a serving plate. Could you help me bring these to the dining room table, Danielle? We brought the food out on the table and brought out some sparkling water. We called the boys over, and the first thing Scott said was, do you have any beer? Frank told him no problem and grabbed a couple from the fridge.
We all sat down and started with the soup. It was a spicy tomato soup and was delicious. Betty and I each had some salad while the guys skipped the salad and dug into the sandwiches.
There was a football game on the TV, so Scott and Frank each took a plate of sandwiches and their beer and went to watch the game. Betty and I didn’t mind since we had a lot to discuss regarding the big wedding. We each were trying out a sandwich while we chatted.
Well, Danielle, it looks like my mother wants us to see what she has been up to regarding the wedding. She has picked out all kinds of things and wants us to have a look.
Well, this sounds like fun; she seems to have thought up so many details that I would have never considered. Betty and I finished lunch and cleaned up the table. I took the remaining sandwiches over to the guys and offered them up. Scott said, Thanks, Dani, and took them off my hands. We won’t have any problems cleaning them up.
We left Betty’s place and got into her car, and she drove us over to her mother’s house.
Andrew welcomed us at the door and let us in. Mrs. Jonsson was waiting for us, and we followed her into the dining room, where she had items set up all over the large table there. The entire table was covered with all sorts of things, usually with different variations, and we were going to go through them all.
Firstly, we have the wedding invitations and table placeholders. She passed us two copies of the invitation styles book, and Betty and I flipped through them. Betty said to me, look at this one Dani, it’s nice, parchment paper, gold fancy lettering. What do you think? I think it looks great. I doubt we could do any better. And the placeholders are in the same style.
Mrs. Jonsson said I hoped you would like that design too; it’s very classy.
We went on to the design of the wedding bouquets. Mrs. Jonsson had a few examples on the table and a catalog full of others. Betty and I liked one of the ones Mrs. Jonsson had picked out on the table. I like the colors of these flowers as well as the scent of them; they’re gorgeous. Betty agreed with me; I think they’re stunning too.
We then looked at the table place settings. We picked out a traditional China pattern and thought we would use white table cloths. We also decided to use dark red cloth napkins, and we decided on the flatware style. We used traditional wine glasses and champagne flutes.
Next, we decided on which entrees we would serve. There was roast chicken, roast beef, and salmon main courses, roast potatoes or rice, along with steamed vegetables. Betty also asked if we could have a Vegan entrée, and Mrs. Jonsson noted that down. We decided to ask guests in the RRSP to select which entrée that they preferred and would make them up according to the invitation response, along with extra plates in case some guests changed their mind. We looked at salads and decided on a garden-style salad with various salad dressings available, as well as a Caesar salad. We also selected a variety of hot and cold appetizers and canapes that would precede dinner and would be served by roving waiting staff to the wedding guests; as well, there would be an open bar serving wine, beer, and mixed drinks. We picked out a Crème Brulé or a Chocolate Mousse for dessert, and of course, there would be a wedding cake available.
As for wedding photographers, Mrs. Jonsson thought it would be best if there were a wedding photographer for each of us, taking traditional photos, as well as two roving videographers that would be taking video footage from various viewpoints during the wedding ceremony as well as fixed video camera angles. They would edit this all together and give us a complete video of the ceremony as well as the reception. Both Betty and I thought this would be a great idea.
We also looked at decorations for the church to dress things up for the wedding.
Mrs. Jonsson also asked us if we would like to have children as ring bearers and flower petal girls, as the family had a wealth of little cousins who would love to do this.
I hadn’t considered this, but we both thought it was a great idea too.
We then discussed seating arrangements and how we would like to seat our guests. Did we want to mix everyone up or keep our guest tables in groups of people that already knew each other? We both thought the latter would be preferable for dinner, to let our guests chat with their friends, and they could mix later during the dance after dinner.
We also decided on what kind of music we would play at the dance, how loud etcetera. Betty knew a couple of DJs that would be able to play a variety of music and wouldn’t play so loud that no one could talk.
We had an appointment at a wedding gown shop next week on Wednesday afternoon, and we were going to invite our bridesmaids as well. Scott and Frank would be going to a tuxedo shop along with their groomsmen, and they would all pick out what they liked. We hoped that they would stick with a traditional tuxedo, but it was up to them.
Mrs. Jonsson thanked us for coming over and told us, if there was anything else that came up, she would call us up to make the decisions.
Betty and I said our goodbyes and went back to her place.
