Working for a Boutique – Part 8

OTHER PARTS | ALL STORY LIST

As I walked down the hallway towards my homeroom, my heels made a lovely click-click sound against the floor, and I felt so amazing.  I had a big smile on, and as I passed the other students in the hallway, I would hear all conversation suddenly stop, and I left a silence in my wake.  All the guys were just stopping whatever they were doing or saying and just followed me with their eyes as I walked by them.  I even had the same effect on the girls, and all eyes were glued to me, all the way to my homeroom.

As I entered the homeroom, the same effect occurred. All conversation stopped, and all eyes turned towards me.  I looked at the silent students and, while smiling, just said, “What’s the matter? Haven’t you seen a girl before?”

I was able to break the spell, and the other students just laughed as I took a seat in the classroom.  Two of the prettiest girls in the school were also in my homeroom.  They both got up and approached me.  One was blonde, and the other was a brunette.

The blonde girl said, “Hi, I’m Beth Davidson, and this is Torri Spears.  You must be new here; we haven’t seen you at school before.”

I replied, “Yes, I just transferred into this school; my name is Danielle LaRue; I’m pleased to meet you both.

Beth and Torri both told me I looked stunning in my blue dress.  I said thanks, as I just love wearing dresses, I’m more of the girly type.  We all giggled together.  Torri told me, you look in really good shape, have you thought about trying out as a cheerleader? I pondered a bit, and said no, I hadn’t.  They both told me the cheerleading tryouts are in a couple of weeks.  If you like, you could join us Tuesday and Thursday after school on the football field and run through the routines, as we were both on the squad last year. I said I wasn’t planning on taking P E this year, so that sounds like an excellent way to stay in shape.  We made arrangements to meet after school tomorrow, so I could learn the routines and practice with them.

Our homeroom teacher walked in, and we quietened down.

His name was Mr. Shand, and he said, “I notice we have some new students in the class.  Let’s start with a role call.  When your name is called, stand up and tell everyone a little about yourself.”

As he called our names out, we stood up one by one, and when it was my turn, I stood up and told the class I was also new and you can call me Danielle or Dani, I will answer to either name.  I just transferred into this school, and so far, everyone has been so welcoming to me. I look forward to a great school year here and hope to make some new friends.  The class clapped, and the boys whistled at me as I sat back down.  Not one person even suspected who I used to be, as I knew more than half the people in the class, I was truly living a new life as a girl, and it was great!

My classes were changed a bit since last year.  I was also going to take Home Economics and Art.  I was still enrolled in Math, Geography, Computer Programming along with English, History, and Business Administration.

The bell rang, and I got up to leave for our first class. I seemed to have a crowd of boys following me along, but none of them yet made a move on me or introduced themselves.  I just smiled to myself, thinking back of how much of a puppy dog I was around the pretty girls last year.  As I walked towards my first class, one of the football team players walked up to me and said hi; I heard you were a new girl here. I smiled and replied, yes, that’s correct.

He gave me a big smile and said, “My name is Shawn Talbot; how are you?”

I said, “I’m fine, I am Danielle LaRue, and yes, I’m a new girl here.”

He chatted a bit to me as we walked down the hall.  I stopped and said, “It’s been a nice chat, but this is my room.”

He smiled and said to me, “I hope I see you again soon; maybe we will have a class together.”

“You can always hope,” and I smiled back at him.

He tried to act cool, but as he turned, he stumbled a bit on his feet, I giggled, and he blushed and said, “I’m usually much lighter on my feet, see you soon.”

The morning went by quickly.  Lunchtime came around, and I dropped my things off at my locker and entered the cafeteria.  I picked up a salad and a chicken sandwich along with a glass of water.  As I entered the lunchroom, I saw Beth and Torri waving at me, and I walked over to their table.  All the other girls at the table were former cheerleaders, and they all knew each other.  Beth introduced me to them all, and I said hi to everyone.  Beth also told them I was thinking of trying out on the cheerleader squad this year.  They all clapped and wished me good luck at the tryouts. Once again, I already knew the names of every girl at that table, having watched them from afar over the years. As Danny, none of them would have given him the time of day, but as Danielle, I was already a member of their group, and I didn’t even know any cheerleading routines.

We enjoyed our lunch, and I chatted with all the other girls. It felt so nice to be welcomed into a group of women instead of being that loner boy with few friends.  I really didn’t know how I could have done that before. Life was so much better this way.

The school day soon ended, and I collected all my books at my locker and placed them in my leather carry-all shoulder bag.  As I walked towards the exit, Beth and Torri joined me, and we walked out through the gauntlet of boys who gathered at the school entrance.  We got a number of whistles and comments from the boys as we walked by.   I walked towards my Mercedes and opened the trunk with my remote.

Beth and Torri stopped and gasped, “You drive a Mercedes?”

I replied, “Yes, it’s engineered like no other car.” And I smiled.

“You have to take us for a ride in it.”

“Sure, hop in. Where would you like to go?”

They told me about a local student hang-out nearby.  I knew where it was, so I said, “Sure, let’s go.”

I drove over to the hang-out malt shop, and we went in and met some more of the senior students that were there already.  I got a lot of comments on how pretty I was, and they were impressed with the ride I drove in on. We sat at a table, and we ordered sodas and chatted for a while.  I finished my soda, and I told the girls that I had to leave, as I needed to do some tasks for my mother and would see them tomorrow.  I waved goodbye to everyone and drove home.  Ms. LaRue wasn’t home yet, so I parked my car, went down to my suite, dropped off the books, and changed into my maid’s outfit.  I looked at my tasks for the day and got to work.  By the time Ms. LaRue got home, I was finished.  I greeted her at the door with a glass of white wine and asked her how her day went.   She said it was fine, and our sales were really good for our fall line.  How was your day, dear?  I told her about my morning entrance, and she laughed and said, I bet you made quite an impression.  I also told her how no one recognized me as Danny; I was a completely new person as far as everyone was concerned.  Everyone seems to like me, even the ones who are afraid to talk to me, and I giggled.   Ms. LaRue smiled and said, but you are a new person Danielle, there seems to be little left of your former self.

I left Ms. LaRue and changed back into a dress, put on an apron, and started dinner.  After Ms. LaRue and I had a lovely meal together, I cleaned up the plates and the kitchen and went back downstairs to do my homework for the evening.

Tuesday was much like Monday, and I brought along a gym bag with a pair of runners, shorts, and a sports bra.

I was talking to Ms. LaRue earlier about how I should handle changing out of my clothes at school.  She found the solution on a crossdresser website, and I ordered a special pair of latex panties that resembled a vagina.  It was toned to my skin color, and when I had it on, I looked just like a girl, and no one would notice any difference unless they inspected me really closely.  Even so, I didn’t take P E this year as I was still nervous about changing in front of a bunch of other girls.

We finished the school day, and I changed into my sports clothes in the girl's change room and met the other cheerleaders out by the football field.

Beth and Torri and the other girls ran me through the cheerleader routines, and I picked them up really quickly.  I thought I was in great shape, but the hour-long practice wore me out, and I was glad it ended.  Joanie, the former head cheerleader, said, we will see you, girls, again on Thursday, same time after school, rain or shine.

We walked back to the change room, and I just wiped myself down with a towel and changed back into my dress. Not going to take a shower, Danielle?  Sorry, I don’t have the time right now; I have to scoot home.  I will see you, girls, again tomorrow. I was finding out another thing that I loved about being a girl.  When guys sweat, they really stink, but when girls perspire, it smells almost sweet.

I drove back home and changed into my maid’s uniform, and got to work.  When Ms. LaRue arrived, I was in my dress and handed her a glass of wine and the mail.

I made up another dinner that couldn’t be beaten, we had a great meal together, I cleaned up the kitchen and retired to do my homework.  I was settling into a routine, and I was really enjoying it.

Thursday after school came around, and I was out with the other cheerleaders working on those routines.  I was finding it easier and thought I could have a shot at becoming a cheerleader.  Of course, as Danny, I would have never dreamed of being a cheerleader or wanted to be one for that matter, but now I was excited at the prospect of making the squad.

I changed and said my goodbyes to the girls and began my home routine. The school week ended.  I was going to be working at the Boutique this weekend, on Saturday and Sunday, two 12-hour shifts, since I wasn’t working during the week any longer.  My first week of school worked out really well.  I was accepted by the cheerleaders, made friends with everyone I talked to, and had boys tripping over themselves to talk to me.  Oh My God! I was the popular girl at school. Instead of being introverted and quiet like Danny was, in girl mode, I was bubbly and outgoing and would talk to everyone. My personality was the exact opposite of what it used to be, and I was so happy to be this way.  I was amazed at myself for such a complete change in my personality; I truly was a new person in every way.

Saturday morning and I drove over to the store and punched in at 8:00. The store opened at 9 am, so I used the first hour to restock the store and make sure everything was well folded and in the correct racks.  That morning I worked in the shoe dept and was helping ladies find that perfect pair of shoes.  It was all fun, and I looked at it as a challenge to get them that special pair.

It was around 11 am, and I noticed that Beth and Torri were looking around at things in the store.  I walked over to them and said, “Hey girls, how are you?”

They said hi back to me and stated, you look elegant as always, Danielle, now we know where you get all these wonderful clothes.  I found one of the other girls to cover for me in shoes and took them around, giving them a tour of the store.  I asked them if they were looking for anything in particular, and I showed them some really nice dresses they could wear at school, and they ended up buying a couple of dresses each.  We continued on, and they bought some lingerie, stockings, and we made it back to the shoe dept where I found them both a nice pair of shoes they liked.

“If you notice girls, this is a one-stop woman’s boutique.  We have pretty well everything here that is pretty for a woman.”

Since Homecoming was in two weeks, I took them upstairs to see all the new Prom dresses we had in stock. I had already picked one out and had it on hold for me in the back.  I was just waiting for Shawn to get up the nerve to ask me to be his date for Homecoming.

I think I had made two new converts to wearing girly dresses.  Maybe I was starting something at school, and the other girls were noticing how well I stood out from everyone else in my dresses and heels.  Not to mention all the attention I was getting from the boys.  Now there would be three of us, and I think the movement could grow.

My day at the store soon ended.  We closed the store and spent an hour tidying the place up and restocking the merchandise.   I punched out and returned home. I said hi to Ms. LaRue and started dinner. We once again had a great meal, and I spent the evening doing the washing and ironing.

Sunday was more of the same, and another couple of girls, Caitlyn and Margery from high school, dropped in the store.  I said hi to them, and they recognized me and wanted to see some pretty dresses as well.  I helped them select a few nice ones; they tried them on and looked fabulous.  I found them some lingerie to go along with their dresses, and we stopped by the shoe dept to find them a pair of pumps.  They were thrilled with their purchases and said they would see me at school on Monday.

I arrived at school on Monday and said Hi to the boys.  I found I was no longer the only girl in the school wearing a dress.  Many of the other girls got the same idea, and it was so nice to see more girls in pretty dresses floating down the hallway. This made me feel that I had started something.  Sure, dresses are nothing new, but the girls were finding that nothing would attract a guy like a pretty dress, and I had shown them the way.  I was proud of myself for bringing fashion back to our school.  I met up with Beth and Torri at homeroom, and they told me it was amazing to wear a dress; they were getting so much attention now.  It seemed every day in the week brought out more and more girls wearing dresses.    I had cheerleading practice on Tuesday and Thursday, and by Thursday, I had the routines pretty well down.  Next week they were going to start the tryouts, and I hoped to make the squad.

I was also stopping by the malt shop to keep my friendships up and meet people. And more and more girls were asking me about the Boutique, and I told them I could help them out on the weekends; I was there on Saturday and Sunday.

Shawn was there and came over to our table.  He nervously smiled and asked me if I would be his date for Homecoming.  I jumped out of my seat and hugged him and gave him a big kiss, and said Gladly!  The other girls all clapped, and we both blushed, but it was worth it.

When I was in the Boutique on Saturday morning, I picked up my paycheck, and it was much higher than it normally was.  I found that I was making a commission when I was helping my friends pick out clothes and shoes.

Girls from the school were dropping by all day, and I was helping all of them find the perfect outfit to wear at school.   Sunday was the same; it seemed the word had gotten out that our Boutique was the place to find an outfit, and Danielle was the girl to see.  When I got home after work, I said Hi to Ms. LaRue.  She told me she heard about my school friends dropping by the store on the weekend, and not only that, they were coming by on the weeknights too.  Our sales had a definite spike in the last few weeks since school had started.  I told Ms. LaRue that I thought I had started a trend at school.  Instead of wearing jeans and tops, the girls were flocking to buy dresses simply because they got so much more attention from the boys.  Ms. LaRue laughed and said, it’s about time that the girls had smartened up.

I put on my apron and started dinner. Another great meal that we both enjoyed, and I cleaned up the kitchen and vacuumed the rugs.  Ms. LaRue and I watched TV and chatted a bit to wind down the evening.

The Cheerleader tryouts started on Tuesday after school. I showed up ready to go, and there were at least 40 other girls there trying out as well.  I was surprised, but there were also a few guys trying out too. They would be the ones throwing the girls and were the base of any pyramids.  We ran through the routines, and the coaches watched each of us perform them.  At the end of the hour, they called half of us out and told us we made the first cut.  I was overjoyed, as I was one of the girls called.  Thursday would be the final cut for the Senior Cheerleader Squad, and I thought I had a very good chance at being a cheerleader.

All the former cheerleaders had a special practice on Wednesday evening, and I showed up as well since they invited me.  We ran the routines, and I really felt I was doing well.

On Thursday, not only did the coaches watch us perform the routines, but they also videotaped us too.  They thanked us for our participation and told us the cheerleading squad girls and guys would be posted by the coach’s office tomorrow after school.

After school on Friday, there was a crowd of us waiting for the squad names to be posted.  Finally, the Coach came out and tacked the results on the bulletin board.  There were shouts of joy and moans of disappointment.  I managed to get a look at the list, and I was overjoyed to find my name on it. Yippee!  The Coach told us that next week, on Monday, we would be measured for uniforms after school at the coach’s office.

All of the former junior cheerleaders who had tried out made the squad, and since the senior team had a few more members, we also had some new girls like me, and 2 of the guys made the team as well.

We all went over to the malt shop to celebrate. We were all so happy and were all laughing and giggling and having a great time.  I had become one of the girls, and not only that, I was now a Senior Cheerleader!  On our practice and game days, we could wear our cheerleader uniforms to class too.  I kidded the other girls; I wonder how it will feel like to dress down.  They all laughed at my joke.  I soon left and returned home to finish my daily tasks.

I greeted Ms. LaRue with a glass of wine and told her that I made the cheerleading squad.  We hugged, and she told me how proud she was that I had made the squad.

I had a nice little pot roast cooking in the oven.  Ms. LaRue and I enjoyed eating it for dinner, and we had another wonderful conversation together.  The more I know Ms. LaRue, the more I like her, as she is simply one of the most interesting people I have ever met.

This Friday was going to be our first football game, and the cheerleaders were going to perform on Friday night.  On Saturday night, we were going to have our Homecoming prom.

Our uniforms arrived on Thursday, and they fit us beautifully.  We were both given two sets of uniforms in case one of them was damaged.  I thought that was a great idea.  We practiced in the uniforms on Thursday and ran through all our routines flawlessly. We felt we were ready for the first game and halftime show.

Friday evening came, and we were out on the sidelines cheering on our team and getting the students going.  I was happy to see that Ms. LaRue came to the game; she just said she wanted to see me in action.

The game was closely fought and was tied at halftime.  The marching band came on the field and played for the crowd, and we were out on the field running through all our routines.  There were girls flying through the air, cartwheels, tumbles, pyramids, and we really got the crowd roaring for the second half.

The teams started the second half, and we kept up our cheers to keep the crowd going.  The teams were really evenly matched, and the score was tied at 10-10.  In the final minutes of the game, our defense caught an interception and ran the ball back for a touchdown. We ran down the clock and kicked it through the uprights for a final score of 10-17

We all wound up at the malt shop and congratulated the players. One of the players lived on a farm and invited us out for a celebration.  I called Ms. LaRue and asked her if it was ok if I went out; she said it was fine but be back by midnight.

I got directions, and we drove out to his farm with a bunch of cheerleaders in my car, and we arrived as the party was just starting.  I met most of the players on the team, and Shawn came up to me and said hi.  I congratulated him on his interception. I only found out since the players just had numbers on their backs, and I didn’t know it was him until someone told me.  I told him I was happy that he didn’t trip, and he laughed.  We talked for a while, and he introduced me to many of the other players on the team.  I was surprised at how many I knew, but I wouldn’t tell them that.  I told Shawn I had to get home, and he held my hand and gave me a kiss on my cheek.  I thought that was really sweet of him.

I had a great evening and told the other girls I was heading back and asked if anyone needed a ride.  A couple girls came with me, and I dropped them off at their homes and returned home to Ms. LaRue.  She told me I really looked great out there on the sidelines running our cheers, and she said she was proud of me.

Saturday, I was back at the store, helping people decide on which dresses they liked.  Girls from the school were still coming into the store, and I would help them out to find the perfect dress as much as I could. We had almost sold out our stock of Prom dresses too.  I picked up my prom dress and took it home with me.

On Saturday night, I was waiting for Shawn to arrive, and I was all done up in my prom dress.  The doorbell rang at 6, and Ms. LaRue opened the door and let him inside.  I was at the top of the steps and made my way down the stairs to make my big entrance.  Shawn had a look of amazement on his face, and he took my hand and gave me a corsage to wear on my wrist.  I hugged him and introduced Shawn to Ms. LaRue, calling her my mother.

We attended the Homecoming Dance. They had a buffet set up for us, and we chatted while we were eating, and they told us to all vote for the Homecoming King and Queen.  I found out at that point that I had been entered for Homecoming Queen!  They counted the votes and announced that Beth won and was crowned as the Homecoming Queen.  I later found I had come in second place, but I was also a member of the Queen’s Court.  The Homecoming King was our star quarterback for the football team, Craig Madison, and he just happened to be Beth’s boyfriend too.

We started the Dance and watched as Craig and Beth danced around the floor.  We soon all joined in, and I was on my feet all night as every guy seemed to want to dance with me.  After Homecoming was over, Shawn took me home, and we kissed on the porch before I went inside. It was the loveliest evening of my life.

The school was so much more fun this year than it ever was before.  I had only really just existed in my previous life, and now I felt like I was actually living life. There was such a difference in my attitude now too.  I felt like I could do anything if I put my mind to it.  Compared to my old life, I was so much busier, but I didn’t seem to notice.  I performed my maid duties for Ms. LaRue and kept my schoolwork up to date.  I worked in the store and was really having fun with new recipes in the kitchen, and we were eating a wide variety of different meals. Life had really never been better for me.

Practicing as a cheerleader really toned my body, and my weight was always in the modeling range. It was about that time too, and I knew I would soon be getting a call for another show.
