The Online Job - Chapter 13

OTHER CHAPTERS | ALL STORY LIST

When Natti’s mom came home she found Natti in her room looking on her computer and chatting to Tara on her phone. She said hi and told her that she was going to go and change and then start dinner. Natti waved and said that she would be in soon. As she walked into the kitchen Natti was cutting up some carrots and celery. She said that it would make a good appetizer that they could much on while talking. She then took a small celery stalk with peanut butter on it and told her mom about the “comfort room” incident at school.

Her mom asked if that was all that happened? She could tell that something was different but she didn’t know what. Natti continued relating, “Stephanie and Remy are now dressing alike, and that Megan (Stan) was also dressing.

Her mom was pulling out some chicken breasts and she showed Natti how to slice them. As Natti sliced the chicken breasts she wondered, “I wonder how many people like us relate the day's events in the kitchen while preparing dinner, or over a table while eating.”

“Natti have you wondered why so many of the boys at your school are wanting to start dressing as the opposite sex”, her mom asked? Natti thought for a minute and then just said that maybe they were bored of playing video games. Her mom playfully shoved his shoulder as she was setting some peppers, broccoli, and cauliflower down on the counter. She liked this.

This was nice, and something she always wanted. To be talking with her daughter over the day's events. Then sitting on a stool at the breakfast bar asked what else happened. Natti replied oh just the usual stuff.

There was something that Natti wasn’t telling her and she knew it. She then tried to peek around the curtain, “Come on tell me. I know that you’re holding back something, what is it?” Natti stopped and then added, “Okay, I’ll tell you, Tara passed her Spanish final with an A.” Her mother then responded, “And what else happened? You have been my”, she stopped and then changed the word “child for 15 years now, and I know when you’re holding back.”

Natti stopped and while nibbling on a short celery stalk and turning towards her with a sly smile revealed, “I met a boy.” Her mother immediately felt a shot of dread shoot down her spine. “Oh and tell me about this boy that you met”, she continued. The flood gushed out of Natti at this time, “Oh mother he is so cute, he’s tall, has blond hair, and deep blue eyes.” Is this the boy that winked at you yesterday? Natti nodded her head yes and turned back now to the veggies and her mother stopped her and said that she needed to cut the peppers into bigger pieces since they would cook faster than the broccoli and cauliflower.

Her mom continued, “Natti I need you to take it easy. Tara said that you haven’t gone through boys 101, and I just want you to be careful. While we are on this subject have you always been attracted to boys?” Natti stopped cutting for a moment and then said that she had but didn’t want to admit it to anyone or even herself. Her mom then asked did you realize that with Alan last summer?

Natti turned to her and asked, “Asked how did you know about that? She stood and walked over to her and put her arms around her and told her that she never had to be ashamed to tell me anything. This is your life and I have to accept that. What you don’t tell me could really hurt you so I want you to promise to tell me anything, do you understand?

Natti nodded her head and hugged her mom back. Then she looked into her eyes and said, “Mom the boy's name is Dmitri and he likes me because I’m me now. I can tell that he wants me, and mom I don’t plan on having sex with him, well not now, but I will at some time. He desires me because I’m female, and that is what I want I want to have his arms around me, kiss me, and then submit to his desires and his passions. I’ve never felt so wonderful before. She then hugged her again and wiped her eyes and said I guess peppers can also make you cry.”

They had dinner and then they didn’t see much of each other for the rest of the evening. Alicia stepped into Natti’s room before she went to her room for the evening and was going to tell her good night. As she stepped in she had her beside lamp on looking through a magazine and she was sitting up in her nightgown. Some of the clothing that she had gotten from Sylvia and she noticed the background music playing. “Honey I just wanted to say good night and for the next three days I’ll be taking you and Tara to school and Olivia will be picking you two up in the afternoon.

Natti said good night back to her and then added tomorrow is sailor day, so it should really be fun. She turned to leave but then turned back and asked, “Do you sleep with that on?” She said that she did and that she really enjoyed the peaceful sounds of the rain. Her mom stopped for a moment and said that she used to enjoy sleeping with the fan on when she was a little girl. Then she left wishing her a good night again.

She went back to her bedroom and sat down in bed and picked up her diary. She began to write.

Dear Diary, I’m so happy and even proud of my daughter Natti. I don’t know if I’m fooling myself but I’ve always wanted a daughter and after Natti was born which was a hard delivery and they told me that I would never have another child I was so devastated and heartbroken.

Natti’s dad was against adoption so I was stuck. I couldn’t do anything so I poured all my love into my child. Maybe I was overprotective but I didn’t want anything to happen to the only child I’d ever have. Those long days and nights when her dad was gone away on business it was Natti that kept me sane. I had so much love for my child and I made sure that Natti wanted for nothing.

Tonight was something special when she told me that she had found someone to which she was attracted. She told me that she wanted to have sex with him, and she seemed to know that he wanted it as well. I’ve told you in the past what a special girl she is and to deny her heart with that boy Alan before, tells me that she is selective. I do need to keep a good eye on her now because I think it is a vulnerable time for her. The fact that she told me means she isn’t going to do anything without talking to me. Now that we are communicating with each other means so much to me. I can’t wait to see how this unfolds. I know that she is special and I think that if I know what she is doing or thinking about doing I will be able to keep her safe.

This boy that she was talking about I has to know more about him. I’ve never heard her speak of him before so this may just be an infatuation but she said that she isn’t going to have sex with him right now but it will happen tells me that she is going to go slow, and it sounds like she is planning out her life. I must support her in control of her life. Let her make decisions so that she can fail, but just small decisions so that she learns how to decide what is right for her.

Tonight she cried in front of me and it was so wonderful to see her emotions. I don’t know how society will treat her in front of me, but I do know from what Sylvia said that Florida isn’t that accepting of transgender women, so we might have to move. But I will do whatever I need to do for Natti no matter what that entails.

I think it is wonderful that she has a friend like Tara, and just barely a week ago they were at opposite ends of the spectrum. But now it’s like they have known each other for years. I do hope that nothing impacts their friendship in a negative way as I think they make a great pair together. Tara is a very smart girl and it was her that warned me about how beautiful Natti is and that she is now a boy magnetic. She is very beautiful, but there is something more. It’s like she knows something that you don’t know. You can see it when she looks at you and when you talk to her. The change in her isn’t even in her looks but also in other aspects such as her humor.

That dear mother's response is something I’ve never heard before and it is so funny the way that she vocalizes the comment. Every time that she says it I just want to start laughing. This weekend is Memorial Day, and Monday will be a big shopping day so I’ll have to find out what Tara and Natti have planned. I’m not worried even if they won’t be able to be together I know that Natti will be alright. Until tomorrow then.

Alicia closed and put her diary away and laid down and drifted off to sound sleep, the first in a few days.

She was up early, well early for her, and found Natti already dressed and waiting for her with a cup of tea that she was drinking. Her back was to her and she told her that she had a few minutes yet, and she had already made her coffee. She poured some into her mug and then looking at Natti told her to stand up so she could see the sailor dress. When she stood and turned around her hand flew to her mouth to cover up the gasp that issued from her. Oh, that is so cute. And Tara is going to be dressed the same way?

Oh, you two are going to be the darlings of the school. I would love to be the proverbial fly on the wall. She looked down at her shoes and then back up at her. She looked back down again and then back up at her mom and asked, “It was okay what I told you last night about Dmitri. Please don’t worry he is a good boy, but I will be extra careful since I’ve talked to you. I hope you don’t mind but from now on I’m going to run everything past you first.

I know that you’re my mom, but I’m not going to give you any reason for you to have to act like you’re my mom. Maybe we can invent a new relationship status. Something like friendly mother and daughter. Everything else will be the same but it can just be more relaxed, what do you say. Her mother thought about this for a moment and then said, “I think I’d like that, but now we have to get you to school.”

Natti told her that she was ready and with that picked up her stuff and walked out to their SUV. When her mom got there Natti had just sent a text to Tara telling her that we were on our way. It was a short drive and it was unbelievable just how cute the two sailor girls were. Both mothers were taking pictures and there was talk about making a digital yearbook next year so that they could have that for the whole school year. Back in the car for another short trip to school, and you could just feel the excitement coming from the school as they drove up. It seemed like the two girls were also feeling the excitement and it was infectious as Natti’s mom was feeling it as she drove up to the school to drop the girls off.

The school doors weren’t open yet and walking up to the doors they stopped and talked about this or that. The three big topics of conversation that day were the Cos Con, the all-day beach party on Monday, and all the students that were dressed alike. Many of the girls were dressed alike and a few of the boys wore the same color shirts and pants. Tara told Natti that she thinks that they had started something, and Natti told her it was all her idea.

The crowd started to move and they followed the throng in. Once again both wanted to stop by their lockers as this was turn-in day for their books and they needed to pick them up. At homeroom today the whole class was for the turn-in of their books. Everything went smoothly and people were really excited about Tara and Natti’s dressing as sailors this day. Miss Clayburn was enjoying it as much as everyone else in the class. There were others that were dressed alike. Miss Clayburn mentioned that this is how traditions get started. She said that she wanted to see next year if it was still going on and if it was she could say that the students that started it came from my class.

After class, they walked out into the hallways and since Natti and Tara each had different classes to attend they would be separated but Tara wanted Natti to take her and show her the new restroom just for the new girls. On their way there Natti asked Tara if she knew what class Dmitri had and she informed her that he would be in sociology that period. She said it was just a couple of classes away from her Spanish class. She mentioned that she would like to see him again, and then she told her what she had told her mother last night. Tara expressed concern that may not be a good idea and Natti wanted to know why?

“He knows about me and he still wants to talk to me, and you saw for yourself that he was holding my hand yesterday. I think he wants me as much as I want him, besides I’m not going to do anything today, I just want to make sure that he has my phone number.” Tara approved of that and then told her that if that was the case for she to hurry up. Natti was done in record time and as she was walking she asked Tara if her hair looked okay.

Yeah, it looks great, now hurry up. They turned the final corner and Dmitri was walking towards the class and he saw them. He passed his class and headed for them and was waving and that is when Dennis was flanked by 2 of his friends on one side and three on the other.

“Hey, Tara I need to talk to you. You’ve blocked my house and cell number on your cell and house number.” Loudly Tara replied that was because she didn’t want to talk to him. He shot back, but you’ll talk to the little faggot though. Dennis leaves her alone. It’s none of your business whom I talk to or don’t talk to, all you have to be concerned about is that I don’t want to talk to you. Dennis stepped out into the way and Natti moved to walk around him when one of his friends stepped up and said, “Well look here, we have a little sailor faggot.

I guess all your kind wears dresses and sucks dick.” And with that, he shoved Natti into Tara knocking them both down. Dennis told his henchman to leave the cum swallowing faggot to me. Dennis reached out and grabbed Natti’s collar as she was getting to her feet, when another figure stepped in saying, “She said that she doesn’t want to talk to you and you're going to take your hands off that girl now.”

Dennis took a step back and said something about someone needing to mind their own business. Dmitri said that this was my business. He stared at Dennis and he was at a loss for what to do. Dmitri turned to Natti asking her if she was okay. I couple of people on the other side of Tara were helping her up when Dennis decided that this would be a good time to hit Dmitri. He swung and since the tall blond was kind of bent over he just bent down a couple of inches more and Dennis connected with just dead air. His momentum carried him through and Dmitri just put his foot out and when Dennis tried to step to balance himself his foot tripped on the taller boy's leg. With nothing to support him, he landed face down on the floor. The boy behind him started to rush Dmitri but he just stood and he looked up and decided stopping in his tracks would be a better course of action at that time.

Dennis was scrambling up and it was obvious that he had fallen on the floor and busted his nose as there was blood gushing out of his nose and down his face. Dmitri then turned back to him having delayed or stopped the action behind him. Dennis was up and standing and said nice trick asshole and I’ve got a trick for you.

He swung with a left and the larger boy just leaned back and Dennis missed again but this time swinging around and Dmitri pushed him from his back. The crowd of students that had formed around the combatants stopped Dennis’ fall this time, and now really mad he ran right for Dmitri he just stepped to the side causing Dennis to miss again and Dmitri pushed him straight into the lockers. Dennis’s head hit the lockers with a decidedly loud metallic thump. Dennis then stood and looked at the people and fell backward hitting his head on the lockers a second time before slumping down on the tile floor.

The five boys that had been with Dennis now figured that they all had someplace to be other than right here. One of the teachers that had just come out of one of the rooms now stepped forward and told a student to go and tell Mr. Eastman that he needed to come here. An African American student stepped up and knelt down on the opposite side of Dennis where the teacher was they helped Dennis to sit straight up with his back next to the lockers. The teacher's helper then stood and said, “Man you punched him right in his nose and you schooled that jobber!” The crowd of students was getting closer trying to see better.

The teacher turned to the students and told everyone to get to their classrooms now.

A bell rang and Mr. Eastman came around the corner followed by a resource officer and the officer immediately walked up to Dmitri. The assistant principal stood in front of Natti and Tara and said, “I knew something like this would happen.” He asked the teacher how Dennis was, referring to him as Mr. Hartman. The teacher said he was coming around and he asked him if he could walk?

Dennis clearly mad and with the blood drying on his nose and rubbing the back of his head said that he was okay. The AP stated that we aren’t going to accept that and we needed to get you checked out and told a couple of the boys still standing around to walk with Dennis back to his office. He turned to Dmitri and asked him why he hit Dennis. Tara was the first to speak up saying that Dmitri didn’t hit anyone and that he tripped when he was trying to attack Natti. He told her that we would find out the truth but you three are definitely going to be in a lot of trouble.

It was Natti that now spoke up and said all you had to do was to look at the security feed and pointed at the camera. A couple of the other kids there said that Dmitri didn’t do anything except protect a couple of girls from getting hurt and that Dennis was the one that started the fight. Mr. Eastman stated that everyone should go with him to his office. Tara, Natti, Dmitri, and the resource officer followed the assistant principal back to his office. As they were walking into the office they saw the door of the principal open and watched Mrs. Reeves come out and head their way.

Mrs. Reeves walked up and asked if there had been a fight, and Mr. Eastman said that indeed there had been one and added, “I told you this was a powder keg waiting to go off, you should never have allowed those boys to bring that homosexual activity into this school. Natti once again related that there was no fight and that Dennis had attacked her and Tara, and Dmitri had saved them. She then said what she had already said at the very first, “Just check the camera.” Mr. Eastman turned on her and holding up his hands and shaking them them from side to side ordered, “Listen to me boy.

I know that we didn’t have any problems before all of you had started to bring this lewdness into the school. As he passed by the secretary sitting outside behind the counter he said, “I need you to call the police now!”

Everyone followed Mr. Eastman into his office and then magically his office was full of chairs and he had everyone sit down. Standing behind his desk he said now we’ll get to the truth here and then the school will return to normal. He sat down and pulled out some papers and Tara broke the silence first saying that he should just do what Natti had suggested and check out the camera footage. He wasn’t listening rather he was just filling out a form that he had pulled out of a folder atop his desk. The three students sat there and Mr. Eastman told the resource office to go and check on the young man that got attacked.

The officer left and about 20 minutes later the assistant principal using his phone asked the secretary to find out where the police were. She responded that they were coming into your office now. Everyone in the room looked to the door that opened and two police officers walked in followed by the resource officer. Mr. Eastman stood and pointed to Dmitri saying that this student had started a fight and the school would press charges. He also added that he wasn’t sure yet what Natti and Tara’s involvement in the disturbance was but he would find out shortly.

The door opened once again and Mrs. Reeves came in and introduced herself to the police officers. It was then that the police finally spoke, “Sir we have just spoken to the two young men that witnessed the fight and we spoke with the student that was injured. He admitted that he had caused the fight and tried to attack this young lady here because he wanted to talk to his girlfriend that broke up with him last week.” Mrs. Reeves said that was correct and if they wanted they could come next door and see the whole thing on video.

She said that she could get the police a copy if they needed it for evidence. She then turned to Natti, Tara, and Dmitri and told them that if they weren’t hurt they needed to go back to their class.

The whole office emptied and Mrs. Reeves, Mr. Eastman, the police, and the resource officer all went into her office.
