At lunchtime, I walked straight through the lunch room and headed to the tables outside. Jennifer said I thought we were going to put on a show for Miss Bright I told her I wanted to be able to talk to be me as much as I could in this getup, gesturing to my clothes.
Jennifer said, ok, I know it's only been about a month for you now, hasn't it I say yes to that, and I'm not looking forward to the weekend.
I used to love school and the weekends almost equally but now school is better as I only have to wear this uniform. Still, on the weekends I have to dress up a bit even when we're not going out anywhere I have to wear something nice, I can't just wear a pair of tracksuit pants and a daggy T-shirt like I know girls do sometimes. Mum said a girl always looks good, which I know is bullshit, as girls have daggy days. Everyone does.
Sam and Tom sat down as Alex was unloading onto Jennifer, and Tom added he knew exactly how Alex felt. He and Sam haven't had a daggy day in 2 years, and they don't even own a tracksuit. The only thing close to them is the gym leggings Mum makes me wear Sam agreed with them both.
Jennifer said ever since John ran away, her Mum lets her wear whatever she wants, and if she needs new clothes, she doesn't even come with her. She just gives me her card and tells me to get whatever I need. I think when John left, something broke in her, and the sad part is I don't even care as she did it to herself when she petticoated John. The other three looked at her Alex was the only one with a concerned look on his face.
Jennifer said I still love her as she's my mother, and I know she loves me, in her own way, but if the law allowed me to live by myself I would and so could she with all the reminders of John and me as I wouldn't visit her that much. Sam and Tom nodded in agreement, and Sam said I've thought the same thing. When I'm older, my mother better hopes my sister is a caring daughter, as I won't be.
Alex said I understand where you're coming from, and I hope, I don't end up feeling the same. Especially since my mom keeps taking me out to places to buy stuff.
I've already got more tops, t-shirts and shorts, skirts and jeans plus two dresses, some frilly lace singlet tops plus a small bag of makeup. Sam, Tom, and Jennifer looked at each other and smiled. Alex looked at them and asked what?
Jennifer just looked at Sam and Tom and said you tell him.
Sam cleared her throat and said I had in the first two months of being dressed. I got ten dresses. I don't know how many tops, I had crop tops, singlet tops, plain tops, frilly tops, plus T-shirts, then I had skirts, long ones, short ones, high low ones and tights plus shoes. Alex looked at Sam and shook his head Tom said I was about the same.
Jennifer said I had lots more, but I've been wearing them for longer, And Sam put in when it's the only thing you can wear, you get used to it, you don't have a choice, Jennifer asked Alex has your mum has gotten you any bras yet.
Alex said no, but she did ask about them last weekend. The lady at the store said they were getting a new shipment this week, and they would be on sale next weekend Jennifer said well, you're right. You'll be going shopping on Saturday Alex shook his head and said really. Sam and Tom said it's better to get it over with as we've been wearing them for two years now, and I'm used to them now. I'd hate to have to go through all that again.
Plus they help keep these puppies in line as she cups her breasts with her hands I'll need C cups by the end of the year said Tom and Sam said I'm the same. Jennifer said I need new bras to and asked if you wouldn't be uncomfortable with it I could meet you there and help you.
Sam said I think that is an excellent idea. Jennifer, you could help stop his mum from getting him really Lacey frilly ones and get him some nice practical ones that look good yes, you'll have to get some frilly ones, but Jennifer can help cut down how many she gets you Alex said I'm not sure how I feel about that I'd have to show her what it looked like on me I don't think I could stand in front of a pretty girl. In girls' underwear.
I'd be so embarrassed Tom said would you rather wear something like this (and showed Alex his Lacey pink bra strap) and my other ones are even more frillier than this one.
Jennifer smiled and thanked Alex for saying she was pretty, but she would never embarrass you on purpose, I reluctantly agreed, so how do we work this my mum may get a little suspicious if Jennifer just shows up at the shops. They all agree with me Sam said you live close to Alex, don't you Jennifer said yes, just across the park. Why?
Well, why don't you ask for a lift home and maybe drop hints that you're going clothes shopping on Saturday? I say we could ask Mum to drop you off. We just need an excuse. The best one would be. To say you missed the bus.
Jennifer said I've got an idea. I do dance on Mondays, and I can say I've left my dance shoes at home and I need a lift otherwise I'm going to be late for dance class Alex said that would work. I'm sure Mum will happily take you home and may even drop you at dance class, but I may end up taking dance with you Jennifer said I'd like to have a real friend in my dance class.
Ben stopped by on his way to his regular lunchtime game with Jay And told us there was going to be an assembly after lunch. The Brents are in the office, and so is their father He asked Jennifer to find out what she could find out on the grapevine.
We all looked at each other, and Tom said Bens, right, it has to be you, Jennifer. We are outsiders because we don't really socialize with other kids. We'll stay here
Jennifer left to find out the gossip, and she knew which group of girls to ask or, more precisely, which girl Sandra.
If anything remotely public, Sandra would know about it, and the best thing about her was that she wasn't a spiteful gossip. She would find out everything she could before she'd start talking about it Jennifer found Sandra near the stairs to the main building.
Jennifer walked up to Sandra and asked to speak to her. They did the required hellos, and Sandra started fishing straight away by saying how's it going, the new girl you're showing around? What's she like? She's beautiful, and how did you get Samantha and Tammy to start talking to you? I've tried heaps of times, but they never say anything much other than what's needed to be polite.
Jennifer knew she would get this. The key to talking to Sandra was to give information but not too much and get as much information from her as you could. Jennifer started, yea, Alex is great but very shy because she was bullied at her old school for basically being smart, and some of the boys couldn't take being shown up by a girl.
Sandra really, Yes said Jennifer but I heard that Brent's father is here, and all the Brents are in the office. Sandra's eyes lit up, and she said yes, they finally got busted, and from the crying and howling that was coming from Miss Brights' office, they are getting a taste of her cane the saddest she is. Jennifer raised an eyebrow at that statement, and Sandra said yes, she's really into corporal punishment.
Jennifer wasn't surprised by that statement but wanted to know about the Brents and asked Sandra if she knew anything more Sandra replied only that the head bitch was having fun with the Brent 5, and she’d let Jennifer know more when she did. Now how did you get Samantha and Tammy to talk?
Jennifer said that’s easy. My brother was the same as them, so they except me, and I’ve never giggled behind their backs Sandra responded, with I’ve never done that, but I know some people who do, and I’ve told them off for doing it too.
Jennifer said good for you but don’t let your saddest friend see you being nice to the girls. As she puts it, real girls are better than them and should always come first, but if you want them to trust you, let them see you standing up for them.
Sandra was shocked by Jennifer's statement and said. The bitch didn't say that about the girls?
Jennifer just nodded, thanked Sandra for the information, said be careful of what you say in the lunchroom, and headed back to the girls.
When Jennifer returned to the girls, they were studying and playing chess, but as soon as she sat down, they were eager for the information Jennifer had gotten. She told them everything, including Sandra's interest in the beautiful new girl I'd been showing around and hanging with. She even told Sam and Tom that Sandra wanted to talk to them, and how she told Sandra's actions proved trust more than words do.
Tom said he'd go for a walk and let Ben know what Jennifer found out. We don't want to spook Jay with Jennifer showing up at their table. When Tom returned, it was almost time to head back to class, so they packed up and headed inside. As they walked through the doors, they were told by a teacher to head to the auditorium along with every other student.
We were all sitting in the auditorium when Miss Bright walked onto the stage, followed by Brent and their father was behind them. The boys were in the girl's uniform, and the girls were in a first-year girl's uniform, and you could tell their wearing nappies, and even though they were told they could sit, they asked if they could stand instead, Miss Bright smiles and says yes, you can. Then she addresses the school.
that she's found out what the Brents have been doing, and as their punishment, they will all be in these uniforms for the rest of the term, and if they don't behave, it will be extended until the end of next term as well, Now no one will tease or bully them. I've heard reports of people laughing at our unique girls.
It has to stop if I catch anyone laughing or teasing, I'll punish you, she pointed at the Brent's.
Now everyone returns to class.
As we walked the hallway to our class, everyone was talking. It seemed it sounded like buzzing bees. It kept up even in class until our teacher came in and told us to shut up as we had wasted enough time on Brent's, and he continued with his class.
Telling us how Roman law worked in Britten compared to law when Saxon kings ruled Britten and how they con pear to modern Britten.
At the end of the lesson, Mr. Smith asked what do you think the point of this lesson was? Jennifer put her hand up, and Mr. Smith pointed at her Jennifer said laws change Mr. Smith smiled and said yes, laws change, and people change them through discussion and debate. Now here's the reading list for this week. There will be a quiz on Monday, so make sure you take one as you leave
Jennifer and I got our stuff from our lockers and headed for the gate, To find Mum waiting for me
I asked Mum if she could give Jennifer a ride home as she lived on the other side of Tuda Park.
Jennifer explained that she forgot part of her dance kit and if she had to take the bus, she'd miss half of the class, but if mum could drop her at home, she could get her kit and take a bus straight to her dance class and at most, she would only be 5 minutes late When Mum understood where Jennifer lived, Mum was happy to give her a lift and said to make sure she got there on time. Mum would be glad to take her to her dance class as well.
We went to the car, and Mum drove us to Jennifer's place then to her dance class, and Jennifer talked Mum's ear off about clothes, shops she liked, and how much she loved her dance class. Mum really liked her, and she told her we were going shopping at the weekend Mum asked Jennifer if she would like to join us. Of course, Jennifer said she’d love to. It would be great to go shopping with her girlfriend.
When we dropped Jennifer off, Mum asked if she could watch Jennifer’s class. I knew once Mum saw the dance studio, I’d be enrolled by next week, and I was right. Mum enrolled me before we left We waved goodbye to Jennifer and headed home.
Once we got home, I got stuck in my homework, and Mum ensured I had my normal glass of milk. Then Mum got dinner ready. Once I’d done my homework, dinner wasn’t far off, so I set the table for dinner.
Afterward, I did the dishes, then had a bath, then sat with Mum as she watched tv, and I got started on my reading list for the week. After watching tv for a bit, Mum told me I needed to relax as I seemed to be working all the time I told Mum I was alright and I enjoy reading. Half an hour later I got ready for bed.
