Because that's the sort of stuff I do.....

My house is stinking now after an off-camera incident with an opened lithium cell. Apparently their negative electrode plates can also spontaneously combust.
So not only is Clive's house potentially filled with lead based paint, it's now filled with LITHIUM based paint!

The zigzag might be normal for this size package since a flattened roll would excessively thick on the edges but would also hinder the apparently self regulating safety mechanism of expanding under thermal runaway. If I remember right, the explosive Samsung Note model fault was found to be caused by a lack of expansion room for the battery.

I think Jerry BSKorner tried welding with one, but it didn't work. That may change though.

I was experimenting with one of these the week. The unit I have is also direct to the cells in the jump start port. The current these put out is unbelievable, vaporising a few interesting items 😂 I am tempted to try arc welding with it when I new rods arrive. Thanks for this, I really wanted to see how it was wired internally and able to get all that lovely current out of the cells intact! 👍

Darn it Clive!!! When will you learn to keep the camera rolling until everything is done?
