Super-simple fault. (jammed switch) but a good opportunity to pop the lid and have a look inside.
I'm using a different recording device, so things may look and sound different. The audio might be a bit too fierce now, and I will have to tame down the exposure. Next video may use the built-in microphone to see if it sounds OK. I already know it removes a bit of bass from my voice and that may be a good thing.

I found the audio on my iPad much better as I was able to turn it down from the usual full volume setting and then add a cupped hand to deflect it up to my ears. Once turned down it was firm and clear.

2017-06-29 13:37:33 +0000 UTCDon't know about this model, but on mine, the output from the feeder/smoke generator unit goes to an IR heater tube in the smoker cabinet - a bit like an electric fire element.
