I was expecting this light to be a bit crappy inside, but it's not.  It's a very good base for projects.

You should do the IR LED Mod or maybe even a UV LED Mod or what about a mixture between IR & UV LEDs!!!!

Nice to see it uses 4xAAs unlike many lanterns that use 3. While the extra voltage is lost as heat through the resistor, it overcomes the irritating flicker 3 AA/AAA LED lanterns and torches produce as the batteries run down.

I think it might be stocked by both Poundworld and Poundland.

I can't seem to find this specific lamp. Anyone have a link?

It's a useful little base. Adding a charging port wouldn't be too hard.

Brilliant idea using that for the bonsai tree!

Seems like a good project for the bonsai tree lamp, and plenty of space for a lipo battery and charger (think the cheap chargers for parts...

What a surprisingly cool little light! That is a good idea swapping in some IRs. -I imagine that would be a very effective array when using a low light camera. I wonder if there is any value to building a charging port into this lamp? There seems to be a modest amount of room behind the LED array where the resistor is located. -perhaps a port located there? Modify everything is my motto.
