Inside a water level pressure transducer.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O-0KGbd91_I

After I took apart my new washing machine to show what was inside, a few washing machine service engineers mentioned that the water level sensor wasn't a diaphragm activated switch any more, but was a transducer that sent pulses back to the controller.

So I got a used one from eBay for us to take to bits and see how it actually works.  It's quite neat.

BC can take what looks to most people like a boring little component and then expound on the little miracle it performs to complete its simple task. The circuit diagrams plus explanation are super and where I learn best. Thank you Big Clive.

That was really interesting. I always love seeing stuff optimized down to simplest that complete it's task.

Cool, I see lot of use for a part like this, auto water systems, Roof tank refilling cut off, perhaps fuel in cars ?
