Inside an inflatable solar camping light.

On one hand this light is quite nice, but on the other hand it's got a very silly manufacturing flaw that was probably done to save a bit of cash.

I actually quite like it other than the flaw.  The intensity is quite good and the diffusion of the inflatable housing works very well.  It's worth getting for the module alone.

Thanks Sean. It's greatly appreciated.

Didn't know how to message you directly. But your Videos are really just amazing. Plus you get them out so fast. As a thank you I'm bumping my $1 to $5... hope this helps add to the Poundworld, Poundland and eBay found pink plastic death traps.... and oh my... Gay Darliks :)

You have many followers out there, perhaps you don't realise how much you mean to so many of us. Your channel isn't just about gaining knowledge in electronics, we just really love you as a person too. I hope you continue to create videos for many years to come. You're right about the brighter tablets, very good for sight impaired folk and readily adaptable with increasing fonts and suchlike too. Like Sean, I too just love to crash in bed and watch your new uploads. I admit you do often send me to sleep but I always watch those videos again of course.

Glad to hear it.

It's going on right now. I've just been clearing branches off the road. Storms in the Irish Sea are pretty common, so it doesn't feel too major yet.

Reading the coverage of Ophelia hitting the Isle of Man, Ireland, and the UK. It looks like a nasty storm. Stay safe, Clive!

This is indeed quite interesting as a base for another project. I wanted to also assert that Big Clive rocks as well.

As long as it's repeatable, it's comparable. The manufacturers of Chinese lighting products just pull the figures out of thin air like battery capacities anyway.

Hi Sean, the job isn't quite as glamorous as it looks. I'm guessing that you'll just adapt progressively to your deteriorating sight. This is where the bright tablets are quite handy.

I do have light meters, but without a proper scientific integrating sphere arrangement the results are vague.

I wish I had your knowledge of electronics, and jealous of your job working in lighting rigging etc. Unfortunately I'm loosing my sight and have learning disabilities so your videos are brilliant watching you do what I have always loved. Taking stuff sort to see how it works. I have never been a read the manual person (Typical man thing) apart for 3 reasons, I'm a puff (or gay darlik) registered blind and am ADD\ADHD as well as dislexia (or how ever it's spelt). Your video's are the same exact way how I learnt how many electronics and technology works. But you have well more knowledge how the electronics actually work. So even tho I can do this stuff for my self anymore I rely on your videos to do what I always used to love doing. I did do Theatre Tech in college but due to visual impairment mostly impacting me in full or dark places I had to leave the course. But videography, Stage lighting and Audio are in my blood.., So keep up the amazing random teardown of electronics because I wish it was still something I could still do and understand. Other than that your my quilty pleasure. I love going to bed with my tablet in the evening as just laying down relaxing watching you open and explain the wonderers of the insides of cheap Chinese technology with that extremely smoothing and pleasant Scottish accent. All the best,. Sean Yem & Guide Dog Tally (Wirral, nr. Liverpool)

I'm surprised you don't have a light meter to measure the LED brightness. Not that the numbers mean much to normal people but it makes for a nice comparison.
