Random street light conversion.

I thought it would be quite fun to convert a street light to a grow light.  Not because I actually want to grow any plants, but because it's a nice colour.  This light is from Ynaan on eBay, but is the 20W version of the light as opposed to the 30W version I already looked at.  I was expecting the cases to be the same, but the 20W version is actually slightly bigger and has a better gear-tray cover.

The light also has a very odd style of LED that I hadn't come across before.  Basically a two part version of the classic power LED made with standard PCB materials.

I wonder what the colour rendering is like. I miss my childhood days when the streets were lit with mercury vapour lamps as I remember finding it fascinating to watch them warm up, starting off with a dim greenish blue glow. They've long been phased out for LPS and now a few villages near me are gradually switching to white LED. If I ever come across a street lit up pink, I'll know where they got the bright idea. =)

Very interesting as I am trying to grow Carnivores plants.

Maybe hex are Robertson screw. The best.

THE BEACONS ARE LIT!! San Francisco calls for aid!! (I had to :-D )

The reflector just needs a trim to make it fit the driverless LED, or a punch indent to clear the resistor. Simple enough.
