This is a weird one.

It's one of those bizarre products on eBay that doesn't really have a purpose.  But the circuitry design suggests that the person who designed it is actually quite clever in discrete circuitry design.

This is a weird one.

Ages ago I found some unwanted "Maintained Luminaire" emergency lights. They provided me with some nice sticks of 4AH NiCads, chargers and fluorescent lamp inverters. Most useful. Another great vid BTW.

It's an OPEN light...THAT YOU CAN'T TURN OFF! BRILLIANT!!

If the emergency light units use the same construction these would never be appropriate to install in the US. The letters would have to be 6" high and emit no less than 5 ft candles or 54 lux at the surface of the sign. I think 6 LEDs would be to low of intensity to pass for any sort of lighted sign use.

Fascinatingly complex.

Those awkward, plastic split pins looked better than the DGI Phantom melted plastic pins they use for holding the LED boards in with. Recently repaired a friends Phantom and it was a real pain to work with :)

Is it for a shop that's open 24 hrs ?

Made for shops in Third World countries with dodgy power grids that sell flashlights and candles?

I saw the tape on the top bar early on and was trying to mind sync with you but you would not respond :)
