I use this little light a lot for the extreme PCB closeups. It provides a very good all-round illumination.

If its just for filming i would go with a dedicated video camera. For the same price of a DSLR you get a way nicer video quality, faster focus with a bigger depth of focus, and they come with good mics installed in them.

Andreas

Have you ever tried a dedicated camera setup, such as a compact camera or DSLR? These will mostly yield superior results to a mobile phone or tablet.

So nice to get caught up on the videos I've missed! Great stuff as usual!

Also works with inverted, diffused Tupperware style food containers with a hole for the camera to look through.

We used to take pictures of wristwatches by putting them on a table and sitting a 1 gallon milk jug (the milky kind - not the clear ones) with the bottom cut off over it. Then you can just aim the camera down the mouth of the jug and point a couple of lights at the sides, and it would give a nice diffused, even light without glare or reflection. Worked great.

I’ve been trying to find a datasheet for the EL662. While the SMD code book didn’t help this this time, it has been helpful to me several times: https://www.sos.sk/pdf/SMD_Catalog.pdf I’m certain many of you already are members of this repair tech. website, but I’ll mention it just the same;) https://elektrotanya.com/frontpage

The 6 pin mystery chip could be a genetic flashlight/torch ic rather than an MCU. These cheap led things are so common, seems like an added expense to an MCU. Ever consider sending some of these mystery chips to electronupdate? Decap of them could be interesting.

Kadah

I think these are intended for the camera on the screen side. Though it does seem to make a decent cheap ring light for the main camera.

Kadah

All good stuff though.

Big Clive

Well, that's the fourth thing I've ordered from eBay thanks to your channel.
