Longer video than expected.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JEczJP7UoRU

I'm not sure how I managed to make this video so long.  There was so much to explore in such a small and delightfully crappy device.

It has intriguing and yet inherently flawed circuitry.

Longer video than expected.

i enjoy the long videos, they go in depth. itโ€™s rather interesting how your mind wonders.

Michael Gilchrest

The video was exactly as long as it needed to be! No worries!

Thanks Cleveland, I was thinking that same question myself, and assumed I just didn't understand.. which I don't! In short: I second this question! :)

Great video! It was almost educational for a wannabe electronics fiddler like me. This circuit seemed to contain many interesting "features". Could you make a video explaining more of how this, or a similar circuits works in more detail? One video per functional part perhaps? Just an idea, it would be great for newbie learning though! Thanks for your entertaining videos Big Clive!

Good video btw, never seems too long when it's interesting..

..neither of which has canine connotations..

My van (which Ralfy has at the moment) is a Ford Transit. I'm currently using my mum's old Skoda.

Clive, I'm guessing your car is a rover - haha

Hm, I didn't see the red LED flicket when the battery was almost full with the 2K2 resistor soldered in place. Perhaps that's the issue the original circuit tried to fix?

Sprite_tm

It didn't feel that long when I watched it so it was clearly all relevant and interesting.

A mug of coffee, full packet of biscuits, roaring fire and Clive on YouTube - heaven! And a really interesting video too......

Clive is always good value! Quite enjoyed the lengthy video, always enjoyable when you sense the presenter is finding it more intriguing than expected.

Research found that when one partner commutes for longer than 45 minutes each day, the couple is 40% more likely to divorce. Not sure if watching one of Clive's 45 min long videos has the same impact. But anyway another interesting and enjoyable video. We certainly get our moneys worth from Clive.

Was there wine involved? That might be an explanation :-).

The way its wired originally you have 4.2k ohms total going to the zenior. If just take the 2.2 to the upper rail you lose almost half tje resistance. Shouldn't you add a 2k to the 2.2k to the rail so the zenior gets the same reference. Iam still learning so iam sure iam missing something , could you explain why you removed the 2k with your mod for us who don't understand. At first i thought maybe its not just needed. Thanks for all the great videos. ๐Ÿ˜

That's okay. I wasn't doing anything at work anyways.
