American vs European work shorts.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qE7yqh9mk1g

Dickies has a completely different style of workwear associated with it in different parts of the world.

I thought I'd compare a pair of US versus EU work shorts.

In Germany the workwear to go is Engelbert Strauss in a lot of industries. They offer very stylish and high quality workwear for valuable prices. They’re shipping to the UK I guess. In the event industry the Motion 2020 series is the stuff to go :D https://www.engelbert-strauss.de/en

The most common work wear in Sweden is Blåkläder, they also makes a work kilt https://www.blaklader.se/sv/produkt/85661370-kilt#11287

A Big Clive video with no LED's or explosions? But still curiously interesting...

We are not allowed to wear shorts in construction over here and I'm not sure I would want to. Oh and nice pussy shot starting at 1:17 https://youtu.be/qE7yqh9mk1g?t=73

The Big Clive Style Channel Did not expect that. 😂

I sometimes wear a Dickies hat. But then I am VERY young. (ish)

Big Clive

I always chuckle when I see someone wearing a hate which says "Dickies" - childhood all over again... My workpants (long - school traumatised me to shorts for life) are Scruffs - they're really well made and comfy and I'd recommend em (esp at the £20-odd they cost - I've paid more for supermarket-brand cargos which fall apart in 10 washes)

I always enjoy seeing the cats! I like the utility of the European ones with the flaps but like the build quality of the US better as well.

Michael Thompson

When I moved into this house there was this strange brown cat that seemed to always be in a tree in the garden. I initially wondered if it had lived here and been abandoned by the previous owner, but it turned out that it and it's kitten were rescue cats that hadn't taken to their new home. They ended up living in my neighbours garage. I can't take them in myself because my work sometimes takes me away from home. They get well fed by me and the neighbours though.

Big Clive

Cool cat! It’d be nice to see you maybe do a vlog where we can see you daily life stuff. This video out in the garden with the shorts was kinda in that direction and it’d be interesting to see more like that.

Hiphop here does seem to be mainly aimed at the work clothing image, but worn as fashion. Similar to skater fashion.

Big Clive

The length seems to change with time. My dad used to wear "old man shorts" that were quite frankly too short.

Big Clive

Hi Big Clive, modern shorts seem fairly long nowdays, similar to the walk-shorts of the 50's, 60's and 70's that were common here in New Zealand. Now, proper shorts are the likes of Stubbies, as seen here... https://youtu.be/bIu5D-6NzLM Just for reference, in NZ trousers are called pants or longs, short pants/trousers are called shorts, underpants are undies or grots, and sleeveless tee shirts/under-vest? are singlets.)

Big Clive. Come for the fantastic electronics discussion, stay for the global shorts analysis. Clive, never change.

I thought it was kind of funny that he had to go to a "hip-hop" fashion outlet. Over here in the US, they're mostly worn by people like truck drivers and delivery people. Not exactly the "hip-hop" image. My husband (who is British) and I always confuse each other. I wear "shorts" with "pants" over them. He wears "pants" with "trousers" over them. And we won't even talk about "fanny packs"... <.>

Daddy Bearcat

I must be a right indolent fancypants to say I found this interesting :D The curse of the white-collar engineer, we never really know what workwear is up to snuff and what's "boutique designer" workwear that you really wouldn't want to wear in the shed for fear of it falling to pieces in ten minutes flat...

Mark Dennehy

Like the metallic ring on the European. Would like to see watch pockets given up in favor of knife or cell phone pockets on work pants......
