I'm working on something. A crystal lamp with no tungsten heat source and integrated LED illumination for cool low power operation.
So far it's looking good. (The music is an ambient 800% time-slowed track.)

The bottle was repurposed from a crappy glitter lamp. If you can find a matching base then any bottle should do. Maybe I should design a bigger PCB with support pillars for both the bottle and as a stand.

I guess you could use a bit of control and make the hot spot move about on the base to create an interesting effect. Do you remember the back in the 1980s when the sand pictures came out and you flipped the panel and it was a bit like an hourglass effect. I'm imagining a fairly thin, tall, long box like tank, wall mounted, as a feature light.... Kind of like a fish tank like you might see in a restaurant. Only with floating crystals inside................. Oh dear...... I seem to be eyeing up a big sheet of glass I have......... And that sack of purple acrylic crystals....... And buying some purple LEDs...
